Hi,

im pretty new to poser, but have recently started to make stupid little animations (as seen above)

When i 'make a movie' i have been keeping the image settings as they appear on screen. However, im getting to the point where i want to use more complex textures, which will require me to fully render the scene/movie.

When i try to render an animation in P5, the AVIs come out blank - and yet when i render static images, they work OK!

does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

First off, I have no idea what could be happening... sorry. Secondly, that's a really cool little animation! ^_^ Awesome.

Those two characters you've made there are incredibly cute! Did you model them yourself? Are they available? I LOVE them!!

Zymeck- Have you checked your render settings? Can you post a screen capture of what settings you are trying to use?

Ah, ah, ah! Very funny :)

When i try to render an animation in P5, the AVIs come out blank - and yet when i render static images, they work OK! Try using different codecs. If that doesn't work, try installing the latest Windows Meida Player, that'll upgrade the system components that are responsible for movie encoding.

unfortunately i didnt make the models myself, just the animations i got them from http://www.members.shaw.ca/odeathoflife/downloads.htm via 3dcommune.com

Those animations are great. To be able to do so much with so little says a lot about your raw talent. :D

Curious Labs has identified (or they agreed to the fact that others have identified) an issue with how Poser5 works with Windows animation libraries (not the codecs, but the interfaces to the codecs). This may not be your issue, but the Windows Desktop resolution has to be 32 bit color for animations to be saved (whatever codec is used).

zymeck ( ) posted Mon, 17 November 2003 at 4:51 PM

yay! - ive altered my desktop resolution to 32 bit colour, and it works:) The quality seems quite shocking though,(oops - im on the draft setting) - i guess i'll have to play around with the render settings, and see what looks good!!!! cheers everyone:)

Content Advisory! This message contains violence

Despite being cartoons, and cutely animated, you probably should use the violence filter for iamges of this type whether displayed here in the threads or in the galleries. You are graphically showing bolts going in and blood spurting out, not just implying or hinting at potential violence.

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Tue, 18 November 2003 at 1:09 AM

Er Carolly.. Perhaps it's time for glasses?! I see absolutely NO blood spurting out or bolts going in, except if it's forbidden to harm an apple?! Or am I the only one that sees the bolt/arrow/whatever-it's-called that hits MrBlue on the forehead as one of these arrows with a suction cup?! I mean he doesn't look a bit hurt or dead or anything else like if you are hit in the head. The second cartoon with the gun, well it shows a GUN! Wow. it also shows a guy DODGING the bullets. Again: No blood or violence. Oh and the last one, well, potentially violent, since MrBlue will probably hurt himself when falling down again. But for all we know he could be landing safely in a big soft cushion. :o) I choose to see it that way. Or he'll NEVER get his revenge ;o) And again I wonder why Tom & Jerry cartoons are ALLOWED in the first place.....

Because anything associated with Chuck Jones is pure gold, even if he wasn't there at the beginning. Yes, I know that doesn't make logical sense, but some things can only be explained by placing effect before cause. Beanie Babies, for instance.

Ernyoka, The first bolt misses and hits the apple. The second bolt does not miss, and there ARE little spurts flying out. I am asking that things be labeled. If I showed an image of that ugly toonafish being sliced on top of pizza and pulled back to show the toonkitty in a chef's hat, I would put a violence tag on it even though the character and the action are both so far from reality that nobody should be hurt. A preponderance of humor does come from pain and associated memories. Cartoon violence is not that far from the real thing in terms of associations. Carolly

OK, I've seen it again, and you're right. It appears to be blood spurting out. I saw it as an arrow with a suction cup (they're usually red) and not as blood. Guess I wasn't violent enough with my associations ;o) Would you really put a violence tag on food? Then I guess my picture HERE should be violence-tagged as well? If the tunafish was in obvious AGONY I would agree, but.. a dead fish being put on a pizza?
