Ok, been playing with her for a few hours, and here's a combination of neftoon gal and the shini-taur centaur pack from daz. It came out pretty good, IMHO. Also finally started experimenting with Jakel's eye tricks.. pretty cool!

I did a larger format render of this desktop wallpaper size, and if anyone wants it, email me.

The Neftoon Gal is the Millenium Koshini!

SAMS3D ( ) posted Tue, 04 November 2003 at 2:27 PM

I think Neftoon Gal is the best, but I don't think she is anything like Koshini....Koshini has a style of her own. And Neftoon Gal is one in a million. Not trying to be nasty, just wouldn't want to group the 2 together, cause they are so far apart, even as meshes. Sharen

Gareee ( ) posted Tue, 04 November 2003 at 2:41 PM

Well, that's your opinion. I like both figures because they are "toonish". To me there are two main poser people groups.. realistic, and cartoon. then there are variations in each catagory. People keep creating fantasy renders from the realistic figures, and now the poser community is really expanding with poseable figures that aren't trying to be super-realistic. There's Koshini, the newer Anime dolls, Neftoon gal, the Toon cat, dog, and phoenix, and more "fun" figures, as well as [Snow sultan's??] toon shader technique. At least to me, poser isn't just a work application, but it's really gotten to be FUN! I know where you're coming from though, but look at the koshini add-ons.. probably half go for a more realistic approach, and of course then there's the freebie adult koshini magnet addon. I've done a few more realistic Koshini addons myself, and when I figure out how to distribute them, I will. (if anyone wants to assist? I've added Koshini morphs for shoulderblades, collarbones, ribs, and fixed a few mesh things I didn't like. (like the space between her backside cheeks) (Try to word THAT delicately! LOL!!)

Gareee ( ) posted Tue, 04 November 2003 at 3:01 PM

I wouldn't call her the Millenium Koshini, but another great toon character. I love some of Neftoon's expressions but Koshini came with some useful morphs like fangs, pointed ears and such. If I was going to pick a Millenium Koshini, I'd have to say that its puppet. That reminds me.. isn't Puppet more expensive then Koshini herself? That just seems wrong to me...

Treewarden ( ) posted Tue, 04 November 2003 at 3:44 PM

I got NeftOOn Gal yesterday and I do not have Koshini. The reason I say that I don't have Koshini is that I can't speak on Koshini. That being said, I am very impressed with the construction of NG's head and face. As far a expressions go she is a ways ahead of the Millenium Figures. It might just be me, but I don't like how hard it is to get an expression with V3-M2 that doesn't look messed up around the mouth somehow. I can really only count on a little smile or frown with the mouth closed or open only a little bit. NG's expression morphs are quite a bit more expressive than I've ever seen on a figure. She even has one with her tounge sticking way out and she looks just fine like that. She can have big open mouthed smiles, wide mouthed surprise, etc, etc. You can even mix the expressions to a large degree without the two conflicting and causing a mess. She even has some nice furious and angry expressions. I know that it may be hard to get a "realistic" figure to have such nice face morphs, but I look at NG's face and think that it can't be that much different. I of course realize that NG can't turn into a bunch of different characters, but I now think the face morphed for expressions only may be well worth losing the overall changeabilty. Neftis is a true talent!

sirkrite ( ) posted Tue, 04 November 2003 at 3:44 PM

Looks really cool Gareee. :)

Gareee ( ) posted Tue, 04 November 2003 at 3:50 PM

I agree.. I LOVE the expressions NG has! I'm hoping we'll see a freebie moph set with some basic useful morphs.. chin, pointed ears, slanted eyes, and fangs. Worst case, I'll do some morphs myself, and if I can EVER figure out how to post them, will do so!

caravaggio, I've made two full face character morphs for NefToon that should be showing up in the Freebe section at PolyMage this week. As well as Neftis has a Head Morph expension pack coming soon. :) You will also notice that in many ways she poses better then Victoria. The elbow, shoulders, waist and knees work better IMHO.

Gareee ( ) posted Tue, 04 November 2003 at 4:05 PM

COOL! How about posting your pics of the character morphs?

I'll be happy with the second one as well! Wonder if we'll see a dress to go along with the morph? Hmm a heavy upper eyelid morph would come in handy...

Veritas777 ( ) posted Tue, 04 November 2003 at 5:26 PM

I KNEW GETTING TOON-GAL WAS A GOOD INVESTMENT! She's going to be the hottest Toon-Babe in Poserdom! The Hair, The Clothes, Etc., are all in the Pipeline, and you will be seeing more people supporting Toon-Gal with new hair, clothes and other accessories! (Doing the Happy Camper dance around the Campfire).

dragongirl ( ) posted Tue, 04 November 2003 at 8:04 PM

She looks very cute in Koshini hair and as a taur! Neftis - those upcoming morphs are awesome!! Wonderful!! (Still saving my pennies!!) :-)

sandoppe ( ) posted Tue, 04 November 2003 at 11:00 PM

If you have morphs that can do caricatures of that quality Neftis, then I may have to get the "toon-gal" as well as her "old granny"!! :) I really love the idea of "famous personality" morphs! :)

Gareee ( ) posted Tue, 04 November 2003 at 11:01 PM

Now Puppet for the Neftoon gal would be awesome!

Both she and Koshini are just as good as each other overall in workmanship. They just have very different looks. Kudos to both Neftis and Lady Littlefox for their indivudual tastes and creations.

caravaggio:About the expression on more realistic figures, you are right...it is not as difficult as people might think...I have another figure coming out soon (probably in december or for the new year) Her name is Elle...and here is some expressions just to show it can be as well done on human figures.

well, looks like i can replace V3 with someone new. Woohoo!

neftis ( ) posted Wed, 05 November 2003 at 5:39 AM

Outch! hehe I never said she was a v3...Victoria3 is still a master piece for me! But this is a new realistic figure to use in poser. Altough she is not ready, since she is 'on ice' because of the neftoon gal...But I am still working hard on her...and try to have it ready for you to enjoy around christmas. But helas! I can't promise anything. Just be patient ;)

Gareee ( ) posted Wed, 05 November 2003 at 7:13 AM

I would invest your time in developing more for the neftoon gal first, so other people can make add ons, and expand her useability.. once that begins, then I'd finish off the new model. LLF has done a Yahoo! list or Koshini.. she and koshini owners post about new items for the model.. that might be a good idea as well for NefToon Gal as well. Couldn't tell ya how manu freebies and add on itemes I grabbed when made aware of them. Might even be worth adding to the readme file. Oh! also add tips abouit poseability of Neftton gal's hair in the readme as well... Was this supposed to be down today, BTW?

Hi Neftis! Thank you for your tireless efforts! I am now stunned by the pics of the new character above! I think you are really opening up what can be done with this Poser program. I think your figures are amazing and are finally bringing a quality to Poser that can be compared with feature film and other professional animation. I like the pics others have posted and maybe I'll post one at lunchtime! Regards

I think it's just an IK chain. If you click on the hair, and look in the IK menu (usually reserved for legs and hands), you will see Ptail. You can turn it on and off this way.

Gareee ( ) posted Wed, 05 November 2003 at 12:00 PM

I.C..... wasn't sure about that, and it wasn't mentioned anywhere.. BTW I think the UVs are posted on Neftoon Gal's webpage in those images that scroll at the top.. didn't see it mentioned anywhere...
