ohhh i spilled iced tea on mine a few weeks ago...luckily i'm brave enough to tear things apart..LOL First time ever i spilled something on any pc part... I took it apart asap, and dried out all the tea, took some damp paper towels and wiped down anything that couldn't be put under the kitchen faucet.. a sticky F2 key is all that resulted... (guess i didn't get all the tea off it yet...lolol) (wish i could blame all my dislexic typos on that! hahahaha seems my thumbs work faster then all my other fingers and i always get spaces wrong...LOL) Hope you get your keyboard back soon! Jen
Ugh that sucks. But sometimes a lil break from the net/comp and even 3D is a good one. You come back with more inpiration and will to work. My cat likes to walk on my keyboard, or even lie on it, which is really annoying since he's a huge one, and taking him off the keyboard usualy results in a big mess on the table and half of the things falling down lol.
I can't sympathizwe with you there, Catlin. I did that with half a glass of Gentleman Jack in the wee wee hours of the morning after work once. I got pissed for a minute. Poured another glass and went to my spare keyboard which is a POS (piece of _ _ _ _), but it worked for the rest of the night unitl it could be replaced. Not Scottish, but German and we ain't too far behind ya.
Because I like to blow $%&# up.
Don't fear the night. Fear what hunts at night.
Sorry to hear that ero. Just a side note, If you haven't shorted anything out, you can Unplug the KB, completely submerse it in water, spray it, scrub it, what ever you like. Take out a few screws in the back open it slightly(speeds up the dry time) and run a fan into it. Once it's dry(absolutely) you are good to go.
Oh Yes, my son spilled a glass of OJ in one of mine. Best thing is shut it off as fast as possible.

Catlin! Get your priorities right! It is important not that you spilled whiskey (of any type) on your keyboard, It's high tragedy that you spilled whiskey!!! You can always get another keyboard, but spilled whiskey... (grin)(partial to Laphroig myself)
Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!
What a bunch of pessimists! As long as you still have whiskey in the bottle you have nothing to worry about......

TheBryster..be careful of that darn keyboard!! ;) they seem to love guzzling whiskey, brandy, rum and wine..and anything that makes us happy..and tend to render themselves useless!! ;) ;) Cheers!! Fill to him, to the brim! Round the table let it roll. The divine says that wine cheers the body and the soul!!!! :) - Origin unknown

I've spilt plain ol' Jack Daniels on the keyboard -- I only drink the good stuff in front of the fire and that's usually a Balvenie 25 in the port cask or a Lagavulin (much smokier than the Laphroaig)-- Immediately shut down (i.e. pulled the plug) and let it dry out. No problems! ("dry out" + booze, I crack myself up!) Oh, and if yer talkin' 'Merican booze, it's "WhisKEY", Scotch, of course, is "Whisky" Bryster- I have a 3 Quart, 5 ounce bottle of Corsendonk Monk's Pale Ale with a Plaque that reads "Illigitamii non Corborundum"! Long story... I'll tell you sometime.
Lagavulin is cool too. It has a smoother feel to it by my palate. Seriously drinkable. Glenkinnchie (I am spelling from memory, have to get another bottle) is another i go for. BTW you are indeed correct about the 'e', I never realized it before! Thanks. (sipping carefully at a 15 yr old Laphroaig)

I used to work a graveyard shift (2230 to 0700). Since I lived that schedule, it was not unknowned for me to fire up the BBQ and grill a steak at 0800. Since it was my evening, that steak was often accompanied by a beer or stronger. One morning, a couple of Morman "Elders" (young kids on their missionary work) came up to the door. I offered them a beer and steak. They politely declined, I then said, "since it's steak, how 'bout a whiskey?" Didn't go over too well, but my heart was in the right place!

So, a few days ago, I drowned my sorrows in alcohol, got onto the net at 2 am, hoping I'd catch a friend on the net, and cry my heart out. Was drinking water, hoping to reduce the hangover. the bottle shook, and water fell over my laptop keyboard. Things went haywires. No key worked..though I tried everything. Finally got it to the computer hospital..it's there for another few days.. they keyboard has to be replaced. Thank god, nothing happened to the hard drive. Am at an internet cafe..writing this. Man..do i hate this. I'm also going thru withdrawal symptoms of various kinds..no bryce, no bryce forum, etc. Sigh. AAARRRGGGHHH!
