I would have to agree! This is one of the worst TOS violations I've ever seen. I take it the pic you mean, unless I miss my guess is "Fun in the sauna" By thewiz3d? If this ain't yanked I'll be shocked, I mean little kids visit here. Grow up!

Take your Larry Flint Jr. act over to renderotica where it belongs!

So of course on reading this I had to go look for it.. Apparently it was taken down allready. I'm glad. However, in this search I noticed that much of the poser gallery is questionable at best.. I'll just stay here in bryceland where it's safe.

FrenchToast ( ) posted Sun, 23 November 2003 at 11:20 PM

Some of the stuff is really good, a lot of it isn't.

GROINGRINDER ( ) posted Sun, 23 November 2003 at 11:50 PM

I see no gallery here for thewiz3d.

lol tjohn, me too.... no gallery for that name...and the closest i found to something to a nasty description is some naked chick on a beach chair... LOL

danamo ( ) posted Mon, 24 November 2003 at 1:17 AM

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a prude guys. I have no problem with nudity when it's used in an artistic and tasteful way. This pic went way over the line and did not belong at this site with the TOS as they are stated. It would more properly be posted at Renderotica. I'm not picking on the artists who like to post erotic art. Some of them do what they do very well, but there is a place for that.

shadowdragonlord ( ) posted Mon, 24 November 2003 at 7:35 AM

Glad I missed it, I grow tired of those Poser people who consider their ten-click garbage actual art. Can't say I even go through the Poser gallery anymore, I already know what I'm gonna see.

woodhurst ( ) posted Mon, 24 November 2003 at 10:47 AM

show me someone who models their own figures, or atleast their own clothing, i'll admit I try not to make people the focus of most of my pictures, but I still use it (it was given to me)--but i mean, it really is like a 10-or-less click process. And there isnt much variety in the gallery, mostly patterns of naked chicks and then naked chicks with swords. but, i guess as long as there is going to be a program that makes it that easy, there are going to be people who think it is that easy to be an "artist". I enjoy some of the stuff in the poser gallery, just cuz its poser I dont hate it, but there are so many of them....so many....

Incarnadine ( ) posted Mon, 24 November 2003 at 11:24 AM

The interesting thing is that the challenge of making a realistic lovemaking couple in poser is serious effort! To get a good result takes mucho effort (if you want realism and emotion). I know, I have tried. The sad thing to my mind is the ten-click stuff both here and over at renderotica. It is big damper on those of us who do erotic art and really care about the quality of the image from both a technical and aesthetic POV. (yes I post naughty pics over there) However, even the ten-click is not so bad when it is a true newbie's work (either bryce or poser). We all have to start somewhere and work up from there. It's when they refuse to evolve that I get bugged. my $.03 Canadian Richard

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

Quest ( ) posted Mon, 24 November 2003 at 12:57 PM

I don't think there's anything wrong with Poser at all. It certainly serves its purpose of providing human figurines and as such serves as a good add-on to other programs, Bryce included. It's what people choose to do with it that becomes questionable. As has already been stated, there are appropriate places for certain kinds of artistic expression. Those who choose to indulge their erotic senses certainly have that right but in the appropriate places. Family oriented galleries such as these are supposed to be, have no room for such exposures.

I'll have you know that it takes more than 10 clicks to get anything that is half way descent. I agree that a lot of the poser "art" is questionable but some of us try to give as much attention to detail in Poser as we do in Bryce. If I were to give any less on my Poser work I'd be terribly unsatisfied with the result. Anyway, to cheer you all and show you that some nudity in Poser can be nice, go look at my latest Poser image, I promise I won't tell anyone that you were in the Poser gallery. lol 8) It contains nudity of sorts. Porn on Porn site and Nudity filter on Renderosity site. I rarely get the them confused. >:)

Nice work Calin. I like the theme. I went to look in the gallery for the image (without reading through the whole thing) and saw another image that would be questionable in it's taste. It depicts a man stabbing himself. Judge for yourself.

shadowdragonlord ( ) posted Tue, 25 November 2003 at 4:18 AM

Aye, Im not a censor. I don't really mind so much if an image is depicted in a way that makes you FEEL something. If all an image makes you feel is lust, then it's probably porn. If an image makes you feel a REAL emotion, then it's probably art. If an image makes you feel arcane, or powerful, or loved, or smiley, then it's art, to me.... But also if it makes you feel pain, or loneliness, or anger...

Porn vs art, sometimes its not so easy to tell them apart. Unless you are a certain US senator. Some folks think lust is a real emotion too. If you look at this picture the right way, you could get me thrown out too.

amethyss ( ) posted Tue, 25 November 2003 at 10:10 AM

Nudity is innocence in its purest form. Nudity in art shows a person in his/her most honest form. Porn on the other show us what happens in private lives, it's not art. This image seemed to be trying to push the limits of our galleries.Perhaps created with one hand on the mouse and the other.....

Quest ( ) posted Tue, 25 November 2003 at 10:29 AM

Well, yeah SevenOfEleven, lust is a real emotion just like wanting to commit a murder is. Does it make it right to be depicted openly in a family forum? Of course not! That piece you showed there does not in any way show openly or overtly anything that might be considered remotely offensive or obscene. It may indeed be a riddle of sexual symbolism but you really have to look hard to find it and that is what might set it apart as art.

danamo ( ) posted Wed, 26 November 2003 at 1:40 AM

Hmmm, very interesting SevenOfEleven. So are those interlocking cubes then?

Someone made a Bad Art begone mist spray, it turns bad quality art into Louve quality art and it leaves a nice pine scent.
