I made this character using daz3d's Stephanie and morphed her with Wyrmmaster's Stephanie Stax... I rendered this in Poser, no probs, but when I imported her into Vue d'esprit 4.12, this happened!

she even imported her magnets! I had to erase the magnets (they looked like green balls), but you can tell that Vue can't understand some of the magnets... specially the head... my character in poser has a longer face, and when imported in Vue, her face is more round... and actually, I think she got chubbier in Vue. Also, is it just me, ro did her teeth get lost in the way to Vue?

plus, extra problem: what the heck is wrong with the hair? why does Vue render the hair like plastic? this happens with all the characters using kozaburo's hair... haven't tried with other hairs.

thanks for the help

Well I'll let other poser users help you out with the textures but I would suggest you upgrade Vue to 4.2 first.

I was thinking about upgrading anyway, but I think the problem is not in the version... don't worry though, I posted this in the Poser forum and I'm getting a lot of advice already. thanks!

No I don't think that is the problem also but it will save you some greef later. There is some weirdness with Vue 4.12 and Poser. You just have to edit the textures a bit cause the light source is different and set Vue to not rescale on import I beleave.

From looking at this, it looks as though the figures are the same size. However the lighting in the Vue render is causing shadows under her chin and around her face, causing her face to look more round. The same for her breasts and hip area. I actually measured both pics and they are identical in size. Try changing you lighting in VUE and it will probably change the way she looks.

Try saving her in Poser as an obj and importing her into Vue that way (4.12 or 4.2). Vue and ProPack seem to not understand each other very well. Once imported and with textures applied, you should play with the lighting and the textures to get a similar effect to Poser lighting. Plus, stuff like magnets or the movement cones that are on some clothing, since they're actual items linked to the mesh in Poser, apparently, will always import. You can just delete them or make them invisible in Vue.

hmmm, I didn't want to resource to exporting as obj, because the main reason i got vue was for importing pz3 files directly, specially because mor of my characters use morphs galore. I'll get the 4.2 upgrade though, and I agree that probably it's the light that makes the girl look fatter... someone suggested that it may be the magnets that, when removed in vue, turned the girl into her normal shape and not the shape I gave her with the magnets... but I still think it's the light, I'll work on it. thanks for all the help!
