Subject: Copy morphtarget from one side to the other...

Hi All,

is there any chnace to transfer a morphT from the right bodyside to the other?
For example we had add a morphT to right forearm and need the same morph in left forearm.
What we tried:

  • mirror morph-target rforearm-x-.obj in 3DSMax and made
    an export named lforearm-x-.obj
  • went into Poser and add the new morphtarget to lforearm
  • upload was ok, no errors
  • but using the morphtarget/dials is frustrating, because result became distorted

Can you help us out in showing a way to transform morphtargets from one side to the other? We don't want
to do the same work twice.

Masa has made an utility called MTMirror. But I must admit I've never been able to get it to work properly :o( At some point I think someone was working on a python script for that too, but I'm not sure who.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

I would encourage you to use MTMirror. At least for an ear morph I made for V3 it worked fine. MTMirror had problems with the poly size of V3. I contacted MASA and he solved this problem within 2 weeks. The actual version should work fine. ernyoka1, you could give the actual version another try...

MTmirror never works for me, either... I think it needs a certain level of symmetry before it can function properly. Poser figures should be all right, but home made meshes such as I've been trying have all failed. I'm not sure I have the latest version though. To be safe, I should download it again. click

You are right Bob. Masa told me you need perfect symmetry. V3 can provide that.
