6? thats very wrong *frowns* The M3 RMD works best set within variations of -.5 to .5 Because the morphs add up, use tiny little settings, and negative settings as well. The negatives keep things from exploding as much. On the off chance that something odd happened to your RMD I'm linking to a zipfile with my M3 MMD/RMD data. (which means you get some settings no one else has yet, like eyes only, ears only, etc) In the Randomiser program folder is a folder called data. Inside that are folders for each character. Replace your current ones with mine, and tell me what happens.FREEBIES! | My Gallery | My Store | My FB | Tumblr |

LOL Oh.. if he LOOKS like that, no wonder he WRITES like that too ;o) Lyrra I looked into your files, and it IS the decimal points that vanishes, coz it's in those :o). However, if I replace the . with a , (using a search-and-replace with Wordpad) the files doesn't work at all. Nothing happens :o( Hmm seems I can't use the program then :'( It was such a neat idea :(:(:(

I have found out that if I do a search-and-replace in the files after they're generated I can exchange all occurencies of "0," with "0." and the files work as they're supposed to. So if Kattman could possibly write a script for those of us that uses , instead of . the program would be useable for all :o) Just thought I'd let you know. It generate s the most amazing characters. Really fun and now they're not exxagerated or anything, they're PERFECT! Different it the best of ways! It's just a bit klunky at present, but I think it's solveable, isn't it? (I have no real idea of what you can program and what not, but if you can make a proggie like this in the first place, I'm sure it could have a built in "replace , with ." thingie too :o)

whoah .... okay. That does make sense and since Katt and I are decimal point using types it never occurred to us. Ernyoka you get the bug of the week award :) I'm passing this one of to Kattman so he can do the programmer thing and fix it. BTW ... could ya post one or two examples here, so people don't think that explosions are all it can do? grin

well I'm glad you got a workaround. I've IMmed Kattman so he can look into a fix for this issue. Isn't it neat? grin I find myself using this thing any time I need a character. I make more settings than I need and keep 'em to use later. Actually what with the testing I have 200 V3 bodies .... overkill I think, but wow the variety. When used with Tailor, this just means Tailoring all your clothing to fit all the morphs. Then apply the setting to fgure and clothing and TaDa! all done. I've also made a 'morphing V3' cr2, with all my custom partial morphs on it. These are morphs to shape just parts of the body, or just one axis. Then I randomise it and combine morphs together in weird way to make new morphs. I also 'tweened' faces just as an experiment, I took 6 v2 faces I downloaded, loaded the values in Excel, got the high and low for each dial used, and manually set those high and low values as my Hi and Low in Randomiser. Out of 20 I got 15 usable 'cutey' V2 faces. In about a week or so I'll be making a Randomiser Resource page with some more RMD's to download and tips n tricks. ahem Okay if I go on too much more I'll have to delete my own post.
LOL Well that would be fun. Moderator Moderates own Post! I can see the headlines GGG But yes, it IS neat. It takes a bit too long at the moment so I have to only do 10 at a time or I get bored replacing , and .'s but... I can live with it while I wait :o) Can't wait for the ressouce page :o)

ok, here is a little info, As far as I know from our testers, P5 formatted files work just fine as lng as they are saved uncompressed. This means CR2 not CRZ files. Hope that helps at least a bit, I think Lyrra has more info on this one. Now for the , verses . thing. Should the period be replaced all the time? I know internally I probably need to use the period, but for display and saving I can easily set it up so that with a quick options screen you can set the fraction character to your preference. This would actually make it so if someone uses ? for some strange reason it would still work. It seems like your files are imported and losing the . because of your settings so I may need to allow both imports and exports to recognize this character. This would be the quickest bug ever found in any of my apps, but will be easily fixed. ernroki, I may be sending you a few test patches just to make sure before release so if you could, please IM me your actual e-mail address.
Even more interesting. I changed my international settings to accept the "," instead of the "." and the RMD file imported fine, even took the comma so that as above, the Mike3Old.RMD with the NeckOld morph imported as 0,6, not 6 as you are showing. Of course the resulting file was written with commas and all the math worked out correctly without any code changes, so now I am wondering where the problem really lies.
Kattman, My question was not so much in the context of P5 files, but more along the lines .... do CR2 files that have been come out of the randomizer work OK in Poser v5. It might sound like a dumb question, but, as I said, I have been stung before in similar circumstances ... so I just want to make sure, as it looks like a really cool product. FWIW, I have P5 SR3. regards, Andrew

mathman, can you use standard pose files uncompressed with the Poser 5 figures? If you are unsure, we need to send you one of the pose files generated by this so you can test. Or for that matter, if you have Vicky2 and Mike2, just hit my site listed above and go to lists-freestuff and download the pose pack. They are standard P4 formatted poses. If they work, then files written by this should work.Kattman, I'm not concerned so much about Poser 5 figures (i.e. Judy and Don).... let's stick to Mike and Vic (2 and 3) and whether I can run the Randomizer, and whether randomized versions of them are still compatible with Poser 5. Also, you mentioned pose files - I'm not just interested in pose files (pz2), but also character files (cr2). BTW, it was actually one of your earlier products (P-Wizard) that I got stung on. I purchased it, found out it didn't work, and had to negotiate a refund with CliffH. The readme file that came with that product did not specify whether it would work with P5 or not. As it turned out, it didn't. I don't want to have to repeat this scenario, so this is why I want to know whether it is compatible with P5 (the product, not the figures). thanks, Andrew
I understand completly mathman, and I recall the P-Wizard purchase (it's product page has been updated BTW). As for P5 compatability with the randomizer things are much easier. For one, initial import of new figures only looks for morph dials and thier names. These names haven't changed between P4 and P5. It's not looking for a particular format or other detailed settings, this helps in the compatability area greatly. It then creates it's own file that simply lists the morph channels and the body part they are in for faster loading later. So essentially, after initial importing, it never touches the CR2 again. The output is simply a PZ2 file. This should work like any other pose file.
I can attest that noncompressed Poser5 created cr2's can be read and randomised just fine. The poses work great too, in either program. I've made several hundred Judy faces and poses ... It is noted in the readme and in the ad text that it works with NONcompressed Poser5 files. I use both Poser 4 and 5 and ahve had no trouble using Randomiser create content in either. (Aside from forgetting to tag the files so I knew what figure they are for ... no rsr's I'm afraid)
Well, I'll try to sum up (while I'm not at home and at my Poser pc now I have to rely on my somewhat flakey memory) BUT: When I make the RMD I can't input a , (at least not the , on the numerical keyboard, I haven't tried with the regular one) so I input a . Then I must replace the .'s with , and generate the poses. If I do not replace the . with a , it dissapears, making 0.6 into 6 When the poses are made, I have to do it in reverse, in other words replace all the ,'s with . or the poses won't do jack. Not sure how to do it, but it sounds like YOU know so I have full confidence in you. Oh PS: SOME PPP users could also have chosen to compress their files like P5 does. P5 does it by default but it is an option in PPP too, so you might want to make a note in the readme :o) Did I say it's an awesome program despite this bug? It's really FUNNY!

circle, The programmer dude is working on it. I'm fairly certain that when we do manage to figure it out, Poser5 compression support will be a patch for existing users. From what I understand the current issues Kattman is having, is that it tries to compress the entire drive ... which we consider an undesireable effect. These are regular pose files anyway, not the bulkiest of filetypes. I think the largest file I've gotten out of Randomiser is 32k (M3 body) and the smallest is 1k (M3 ears). Since it leaves out settings for morphs you're not using, it makes very slim files which incidentally don't disturb the rest of the morphs so they can layer over existing faces with no trouble. It doesn't currently have definition files (RMD) for the Poser5 figures, but I do plan on having those on the Resource page, as well as RMD's for the MilCat, Mildragon, MayaDoll and MilKids. Lyrra
Ok ernyoka, First I need to make sure you can enter the local decimal character in the text box. Second on import I need to make sure that the period can be changed to your local decimal character. Third on save I need to make sure I change the local decimal character back to a period. If this is correct I will have a patch in place very quickly. I need to keep the period in the RMD's so that you can share them and not worry about international settings. I just have to make sure I do the conversion on the fly when you read it in.
OK. I can't enter a , in the box, neither with the one on the numerical keyboard nor the "regular" one. Only . is accepted :o(

Ah you mean if I COULD enter a , in the box? Well I think so, as this is what I do manually afterwards: search-and-replace all the . into , then generate the poses and in the POSES I then search-and-replace the ,'s BACK to . Then they work as expected :o)

I'm having fun creating different people by the click of a button! This is FUN! Please people, if you're considering getting this, go BUY it. I'm sure you won't regret it!

trekkie, Isn't it cool? just run the numbers and click to see what you got. Its just fun to play with ... and I've gotten some amazing characters out of it. Then change the numbers a little, and see how the results change. Really we made this tool becasue I wanted to have it lol .... but its good that other people have the chance to paly with it. And considering the amount of time and work it can save? and the fact that it comes up with things no human would try? I think its worth the paltry sum we're asking ... considering you can with the same money buy say, a set of 12 very similar looking faces for just one character. Don't know about you .. but I know what I'd go for.
Speaking of similar. Have you also noticed that somewhat similar faces seems to come in batches? I made 10 at one time that all used the Gargoyle morph in some degree. Then the next 10 did not. Not sure why but it was funny. The next batch were all more or less alien.

The batch simularity doesn't surprise me at all. At the beginning of the generation the randomizer is seeded with the current time, It then generates numbers starting from that point using the internal randomizer. Essentially every time you start a new generation batch, regardless of how many you re generating, each batch will get a new seed, but each file in the batch is seeded from the file before it. All random number generators work the same, some apps re-seed each time you need a new number, This one is re-seeding each time you start a new batch.
Ah ok I'm glad it wasn't just me imagining things L But I had/have absolutely NO idea of how randomizers work so I was only guessing :o) Does that mean that if you run it christmas eve you get lots of santa-lookalikes? ;o)

I just threw together a quick expression RMD for the free Sara from DAZ. Just unzip the file into a folder in your Data folder and use. You'll have to add eye & eyelid expression by hand, as those are controlled by the eyeballs. Thanks! I can't wait to get home from work so that I can PLAY!
