Subject: Question about submitting things to the poser free stuff section

bazze ( ) posted Thu, 27 November 2003 at 6:26 AM ยท edited Wed, 25 December 2024 at 12:45 AM

Hi there, I've just begun submitting my own models to the free stuff sections. The things I submit comes in formats that can be imported to all kinds of 3D-applications (and sometimes also includes Poser-specific files). Is it OK do you think to submit the same model both to the Poser and the Bryce free stuff section? Or would this be concidered as spamming?

Good question bazze, as long as you are not submitting the same item to 10 different Freestuff areas, it should be ok. Be sure to mention in the "notes" box that your item can be used for both Bryce and Poser :) Thanks for asking :) ladynimue

ok thanks! In future versions/development of this site you may perhaps consider a different or alternative cathegorization when "uploading" to the free stuff section. For example the user should be given a choice in which sections the items should be displayed (say Poser and Bryce). Just an idea.

Or maybe there could be a category titled "meshes" or something like that for obj, 3ds files, etc that can be used in more than one software application.

Beschm`s idea sounds like a good one It is one I had thought of also. There would be a lot more props available for poser and objects for bryce etc.

I agree, since most 3D apps can use a variety of formats, one big section for meshes would be great - it could include obj, 3ds, dxf, etc and then just Poser-ready props could go in Poser and Bryce obp's in Bryce, etc. And maybe the "meshes" section could be organised into categories like "Furniture", "Vehicles" etc. Wow - wouldn't that make looking for things a lot easier than trying to use the (sorry but) crappy search engine!

karen1573 I like your categories idea as well. Someone should suggest these ideas to whoever runs that part of the site.
