Benttor, our wishlist for Vue 5 has already been established, voted and sent to e-onsoftware. And the "more undo" is already included. In Vue 4 Pro you have many undos:-) I have put 25 undos, it is individually configurable. To render Vue images faster don't forget to group objects, to use less lights and Water and other reflective material. read the User guide for the render problem. Guitta

"i want everything of those..." - do you want to give everything? All your money? Lol. I think we all want "everything". For me a modeling software that reads my thoughts would be perfect - combined with an auto-great image maker, on an eyelid fast machine. But life is different. Mostly to get more is simply a question of money. How about buying Maya? Best rendering engine, tons of undos, all great studios are using that. Well, is a little expensive but will give you all you want. For me the thrill is, to "cut" great images out of limitated resources. :-)) Walther

I agree Walther:-)

HellBorn ( ) posted Wed, 19 November 2003 at 6:17 AM

Do you mean that the software actually should be made less usefull in order to increase you thrill????? Do you mean that next version of Vue should have the same functionality as today and cost nothing to upgrade to? Then what's the point of a new version, for us and for e-on. What e-on put's in there is probably what will generate the most buys and upgrades to a minimal investment. I have my whishes in such tings as particles, GI, skeletons or import of motionbuilder and messiah files, support for Darktree shaders, possibilities to apply movie clips and/or image sequences to materials, a plant editor that you actually can use for creation of new plants, faster and better render etc etc If I get enough of what's on my wishlist I'll upgrade and if not I will not. Simple as that.

Have a look at our wishlist that have been voted and sent to e-onsoftware

I think it is simply a question of reality check. Of course there a thousands "nice to have"'s out. And i think i said it - buy Maya and most of the wishes come true. But pay the price. We are talking here about a less than 500$ software. Never forget that. I did my first animations on a system which was more than 500,000$. Now i can most of it with a software that is under 500$. And on my Mac. No need for a high end workstation. THAT IS THE THRILL. Regarding a wishlist. This forum decided some time ago to do a public wishlist and send it to e-on. The collective wishes of this community. We did it at a time where we thought it makes sense, because we felt that e-on is planing the next version of Vue. Software development needs time and precise planning. If you have your own wishlist, fine. Send it to e-on. They will be happy to get it. Maybe you are lucky and they do something you wanted. I was a little lucky, some of my wishes - to have a "look from" for spotlights - became true in Vue Pro. And some other things as well. Like customizable shortcuts. Etc. Others didn't made it through.

I must remember that time ago a wishlist for Vue 4 (when we had Vue 3) was established at our Yahoo Vue group by Orio and voted by all the members. 90% of our wishes from the list were executed in Vue 4!!!. I know that e-onsoftware's people always are listening to our wishes. So just wait and see:-).

Wabe ... So it was your idea the view through spot thing ? a swell idea it is ! Alas the poor users that have no luck with the Open GL compatibility (think there are some)are deprived of that helpful option ! (I discussed this point whith E-on tech and they said it was simply forgotten but they should remedy to it soon...) Agree with you Vue's quality/price ratio is excellent

wabe ( ) posted Wed, 19 November 2003 at 8:46 AM

Well, the look through was not originally my idea. It was a feature in a system i have used mid 80s last century. Was great and i thought what they have done in that ancient system should be possible now too. But better a feature that needs improvement than nothing at all.

;-) @ wabe maybe u dont understanting me ..I mean for new version of vue 4 maybe for vue 5 i want those little and fear stuff... why not? i did not tell about animation in vue or modeling complex things ..but i need better quallity of rendering.. and poser has less than 500$ but has for my opinion more clear renders.. I love vue .. i gone from bryce because i found in vue my dreams... Believe me i LOVE this appl .. and i want for vue the best.. no difficult stuff just the normal... Like teragen ... has more clear and more nature renders... Ok i prefer vue for many reasons... (That was an example about Terragen).. Maya maybe for many people is the best animmation modeling or 3d effect software but this is not for All ($$$$$) And Maya cost alot of money but also has serius lovers who need more and more for the Maya makes ..Why not?... i stand hours and hours with Vue because i like... and for me I am Serius Vue Artist ...A little better than others and a little bad for some others ... .. our relationsips must be like now strong and the best... So i post that article for this ... We need wishes for something who we love :PPP) Have a nice day for All:)

Benettor, read the wishlish linked in post #7!!! Then you may be satisfied:-). Others wished longtime before you what you wish now:-)

wabe ( ) posted Wed, 19 November 2003 at 3:34 PM

Benettor, totally ok to have wishes - even necessary to make any software better. But your initial start in this thread sounded much more like "I want Vue to be Poser or Terragen". Could be because my english is not good enough. My first reaction was, why are you not using those software packages instead. The other thing is, that we had the wishlist thing looong ago. Which, to be fair, does not help you at all because you probably wasn't around at that time. If i was a little too harsh, sorry. But there were too many heavy complains in the last time, so i am a little bored about those. Especially when they complain about things that work on my system so that they must have to do more with individual system settings than the application in general. :-)) Walther

Silke ( ) posted Thu, 20 November 2003 at 10:25 AM

What on earth would you want Poser's render engine for? Color me confused. I just bought Vue to get away from the Poser renderer and you're saying it's better??? Vue is much more efficient at rendering as far as I can tell. (So far) Silke

All I need is a Vue version that lacks bugs. Vue 4 is so bug-ridden that I often stop using it for weeks. No bugs would make me happy.
