I have bought some items for M3 and would like to confrom them to M2. In order to do this, If I read the tutorials well, I'd need a M3 to M2 mannikin and M2 JPS pose. DAZ had put a V3 to V2 mannikin (by Lord Nakagawa)and V2 JPS on a previous V2 to V3 tutorial, but they did not do the same for their M2 to M3 tutorial. Can anyone tell me where I can find such files? (Unless there is some copyright problem, of course). I bought the Freak, so, since it is based on the same unimesh as M3, there could be some way to use it as a base for a M3 to M2 mannikin without infringing copyright (for instance with a "Freak to M2" morph if anyone knows where I can find it)? By the way : has anyone got a pose for the Pre Teen JP (if they are different from V2's) ?

Good question indeed.

The V3 mannikin had some distribution "issues" if I remember correctly. As far as I know there is no M3 mannikin. If there was there can be no decimation/rework of the figure mesh in Lightwave or any other program that would preserve the morphs through changing mesh resolution into a mannikin or anything else. If ya ever see one for M3 I would make sure Daz is aware just in case.

Here's the link to the other V3 Tutorial. For a very long time there was only the V2-2-V3 mannikin available. Lord Nakagawa had made one for going the other way (V3-2-V2) but for a very LONG TIME it was never posted, despite "everyone" agreeing to do so, ETC. Anyway- it finally was posted (in a somewhat "hidden" sort of way). Bottom line is- There is "no reason" why DAZ wouldn't do the same for M3, as long as THEY were the ones distributing it since it is their mesh copyright. But don't expect DAZ to make it! If someone steps forward, like with V3, and makes the mannikins for going both ways, it would seem that the "established precident" with the V3 mannikins would make this the same case for M3 and Mr. F. So if someone wants to make the tutorial, or just follow the V3 tutorial, and someone else makes the mannikins- then DAZ "should" post them in their tutorial section! Any brave souls want to take on this mission?

Seems like NightFir posted recently a huge set of tutorials on doing an Onmi-Directional M2-M3-Mr.F clothing switcheroo- seems that if THAT could be boiled down to some mannikins for "the rest of us"- we would really be set!

I took a look at the link above. It seems like the M2 clothing to M3 situation is taken care of. How would one go about getting a JP pose for the freak? Can it be ripped from his .cr2 and how? I looked at the .cr2 and compared it to the JP pose for M3, there has to be a better way than just using a text editor. Oh, and in case anyone is wondering... NO, I really don't have a clue in regards to this stuff.

I'm not sure what's up with the hands. I suspect it's joint parameters; many characters seem to have issues with joints, not just the Freak. If you're comfortable with the joint editor, maybe try opening it and moving the joint centers around.

May be something to do with "propagating scale" ?

I'm having the same problem with the joints etc ie my tutorial that I put up before. Still trying to fix it. Uh veritas77 how can I make my tutorial better for everyone to use. I was just going thru the messages, and saw your comment above. Brad.

I'm sorry, I read "where" as "when". I asked for them to be added to the M2 to M3 tutorial, as well as another "step" talking about how other Unimesh figures can often be loaded as base object and morph target. Anyone who wants them early can still IM me, though.
