Subject: Non-glamourous textures?

archrendr ( ) posted Mon, 01 December 2003 at 1:12 PM ยท edited Tue, 03 December 2024 at 6:42 AM

Hi Poser folks.... Mostly I use Cinema4D, and now I am looking for the most realistic of skin tones for V3. (V2 tex could also be converted successfully to v3 as well, I guess). I look for more natural kind of renders - not the overall tan sameness of a lot of textures I see. They are beautiful, just not what I am looking for. I want to incorporate some figures into some aspects of the interiors I work on - for personal use - something a little more poetic maybe. I really would like to see the skin imperfections, tanlines and lighter skin in natural places that show - mostly nude. I would appreciate any suggestions from you guys' personal experience about the most naturally appearning ones - especially the ones that would have too many imperfections and unevenness to qualify for "glamor" renders.

Many thanks in advance! Arch
Also....Any ideas how I might modify existing ones that are too polished would be appreciated as well...

There are so many great ones around, my preference is by creator StephyZZ, she sells many here and lots more at her site. I use them all the time. I think I may have almost all of her textures for V3 and V2 and the kids. I feel she is most talented in this area. Sharen

Catharina Harders has made some of her older textures available for free - these were previously on sale, and the quality is accordingly high. MEC4D

Still with the free stuff, Eowyn also has some good ones which are based on Staale's P4 texures. Beyond Appearances

I agree with Sharen. Stephy's Yuma texture is probably one of the most widely used around and has stood the test of time. And of course there is Yoda, Yazoo, and...you get the idea. Most of her texs are very hi-resolution, but they lose very little by reducing them down for faster renders.

You can also take a look at Cernunnos Digital Creation's Champagne Steph and Amia V2 who are based on real people. They both have natural looking textures with lots of texture extras at a reasonable price in the MP. Check out MaskEdit's textures here at the marketplace-- most noted for freckles, there are other ultra natural skin tones included. They render beautifully. Also there is a free Vicki natural in FS that is a great texture--V2 only but convertable with UTC. And then there is Qin by ByteMeOk. stunning natural texture. Emily

..and if you like redheads and freckles be sure to check out HandSpanStudios great Shelly texture as well. Plus there are a lot of other nice textures in the HSS marketplace. My suggestion would be to go to the marketplace and search for the V3 textures...you are going to find a lot of good ones..[Okay, Lyrra...where is my $50. certificate for plugging the RO Store? LOL>]

Thanks again all of you...I must have spent hours already at the RO store. Mostly what I got was confused (after spending some $$$) and so I really appreciate your user perspectives. I bought 2 really exquisite textures that are very high res, but they actually are "too perfect" if there is such a thing. I've been looking for this 'realistic thing' for several years now actually. I'm going to check out your last suggestions here now - and so thanks again. A

The only thanks we need is the chance to view some of the great pictures you produce with your new toys... ;p
