I've got a dumb newbie type question that I would not dare ask in the poser forum. I noticed a lot of the freebies are for poser V3. I have poser 3, can I use any of these freebies and is V3 a model I would have to buy or is it part of poser 3 or is it something out there that is free? I still can't make my posers do anything other than amazing contortionist tricks, LOL, but I wondered if I should take advantage of these freebies. In the hopes that someday I might be able to learn the program.

Hey Ang25, I understand not wanting to ask newbie questions there. I'm the same way...and I have tons of Poser questions I wish I had answers to. Even so, I think I can at least answer yours. If I'm wrong on anything hopefully someone will correct me. V3 is short for Vickie 3.0...a model you have to buy from a place called DAZ. (I think it's daz3d.com ??) She's supposed to be superior to the native poser models that come with the program. (More morphs and other stuff for her). Technically, stuff for V3 won't work with Poser models. And vice versa. However, I guess V1 and V2 stuff can be used on Poser 5 models some of the time. There are Poser gurus who seem to invent ways to work around these limitations via file or script manipulation, etc. But that's way beyond me. You need Poser to work with Vickie and her stuff, but I don't know if your version is recent enough. There's a huge buzz about something called Daz Studio...from what I get from the posts about it, it's meant to be an application to import your models into and do your manipulations, but I don't really know much about it. I think it's going to be free though, and then you just buy the models?? Anyway, I hope I answered your questions without increasing the confusion. :)

I think Indigo answered that question, but as stated V3 is the latest Vicky model and apparently she is quite high polygon, if you want to import into bryce. V1 and V2 are still higher in polygons than the native poser figs, and I am not certain if they will actually work in p3 Try and get poser4, it is so much easier for importing stuff into Bryce, which after all is the only reason for wanting poser isn't it?. You can then downloads lots of canned poses and tweak them. Its a good way of getting your posers to look right, and a great way of learning how they actually move.
