Subject: What about Mike?

Paradogma ( ) posted Tue, 02 December 2003 at 11:04 PM · edited Fri, 15 November 2024 at 11:30 PM

Hi:)

Its the first time that Im posting in the forums, but this time Im doing it because Im somewhat sad. It is all the same where I am searching. It seems to be impossible to find REALLY good Texture Sets for Mike2, or even NORMAL Clothing Packs. Oh well, yes, it is easy to find some police clothing, pirate clothing , medieval or futuristic clothing, but it seems that normal clothing like a realistic Jeans ( Im not talking about textures for the Clothing Pack Pants, that dont look real, folks)or a simple T-Shirt, what doesn`t look like you should be veeeeeeery carefully to touch it because it could possibly get folds( Thanks to RDNA by the way, for their free Mike turtle neck pullover, thanks thanks thanks!!!!)...
So...if some of YOU talented and wise folks KNOW a store or a good Site on the NET where I could possibly get good Mike2 clothes, I would fell on my knees and kiss your feet.

greetings:)

Mike clothes? Try Poserworld. http://www.poserworld.com Steve, like everyone else tends to concentrate a tad more on the vickie characters but he's got some "normal" clothing along with period uniforms and other goodies. Check out the preview page for an idea of what's in there. Virtually all the members on that site are very happy campers. :)

well I took a look at the preview site, but I saw very little for mike. I tend to subscribe, but I would wish that more good mike 2 resources would exist. P.

I confess I haven't recently checked out the preview site but there's a lot of kit on there for Mike. Several historical uniforms, suit, pants and other assorted items including an excellent western outfit that can be customised for casual wear. One thing to remember is that Mike 2 will wear Mike clothes. Only thing different is in the morphs and most clothing doesn't carry the morphs for these characters. Programs like The Tailor (Daz) will allow you to morph items to fit but it's not a perfect solution. Morphs on clothing unless there's sufficient mesh will result in the clothing and texture map stretching. Anyway, I honestly don't think you'll be disappointed with Poserworld, I certainly haven't been. Just as a quick example, I have 123 clothing items for mike in my Poserworld directory and a bunch on cd that I haven't unpacked. Allowing that some of these are related (right and left boot) there's probably around 65 single clothing items and another dozen or so that I've not unpacked yet. Steve has also been making things for V3/M3 and making "retro" items for the earlier models. So you won't run out of stuff because he's moving on. The guy's a workaholic so there'll always be something. As an added bonus he takes requests for items. Sometimes they get made, sometimes not. It depends on his schedule and what's in the pipeline. Also watch out for items from a vendor called Thip (Daz, PoserStyle and the store here). He makes a good few items for Mike and they're excellent quality. Oh, erm. The foot thing. Trust me, you don't want to spend too long near my feet, they have a government health warning on them. :) Seriously though, hope some of this is helpful.

Dunno if you also might be looking for Mike2 body textures, but Cath at Mec4d has uploaded some superb textures for free download (for v2 too). Thank you Cath.

Also check out PhilC's site. He makes normal clothing for people as well as the extremely stylish. I've got his basic Mike pack, as well as the new Mike pack for M3, but never got the ones from DAZ. I echo the Thip recommendation, too. Check CoreArts. Traveler has also made Mike stuff, but you have to be a member of his PropsClub. Besides Cath's textures, Lyrra did a huge Shades of Mike set at her cyclopsstudio site... lots of Mike textures to play with! Carolly
