Aye, this one's advancing slowly but surely, I'm nearly ready to finish up this section and move on to the body. Nostrils, maybe more spikes, and some inner-mouth work (gums, palate)... Rendered with a 75-light dome, squared falloff at 5 each... I'm working on textures too, but this one shows the smoothness of the model, so far... Any ideas? Parts I'm forgetting about? Details...?

Are you modelling that in bryce? If so, well done - thats a lot more organic than anything I've got out of it. If not can I see the wireframe?

Maybe some upper teeth, long enough to show at this angle. Great so far. And throw a few textures on there to demo the potential of this model.

This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

Yes upper fangs. grin 8) I like to have dragons with flaming red eyes and for that you'd need eyeballs, so what about eyeballs, does he have any? Catlin

Cool dragon a bit bumpy in the neck but a very cool head!

Flak, no it was modeled in Rhinoceros. I posted an earlier WIP about a month ago, it's coming along slowly since I'm spending most of my time on commercial art or on the male Choedan Kal scene... I'll post a wirefram for ya when I get home! And the textured WIP version is done now, as well... (bows to you all!) So : 1. More teeth, longer upper teeth/fangs. 2. Smoother neck. 3. Eyeballs. Got it, I'm sending this list ot my secretary (my printer) right now!

I always envisage dragons with "whiskery" things dangling from the chin and sides of muzzle...like catfish have. (What the heck do you call that stuff anyway? LOL) Don't know if that helps or not. Looks great regardless!

Meant to say earier that this dragon reminds me of some Chinese dragon designs that I've seen, wondered if that might be an influence for you, and as IndigoSplash says, the Chinese dragons usually have whiskery things that I have always heard were called whiskers. :^)

Aye, Tjohn, I was born Korea and although I am Noregian, I feel many ties to Eastern cultures. This dragon design has been playing out in my head for years now, in ink and pencil and tattoo ink (on my back), and this is just an extension and a dream of mine, part of the reason I started doing 3D in the first place. Par for the course, in character modeling, is the dragon. For me, anyways. The coolest dragon I've seen done is Bahamut ZERO from Final Fantasy 7, well there are other good ones but that one takes the cake for being HUGE and ridiculously badass. Mix that concept (a dragon the size of Earth's moon Luna) with my years studying amongst the Protoss (read : playing Starcraft) and this head-type came to me... Hope to finish the body someday too, and animate it... Thanks again for the feedback, Bryster I'll try to REMAIN the ancient dragon Highlord caste, but even Highlords have self-doubt at times! (grins)
