Nothing to do with the upcoming Batman movie, just a texture test, but I thought it made a nice picture.

WAY Cool!

Very nice texture. But another Batman movie? Sounds like somebody should have told them to throw their money at something more "au courant". Unless it's some kind of Mel Brooks-type scam, where the producers make a money-loser, then retire to Rio de Janeiro.

Whoa! Me likes. :) Great job on that pic. I love the fluidity in the textures.

Hopefully you might be able to release it in some type of "Looks Like..." version to avoid any legal problems. "Kat-Blue" mystery heroine! (happens to look sorta-like-something-else!) Don't see any Batman logos, so you are probably safe there. BTW- In previous thread-ravings, I think toon and comix characters will be the HOT item in 2004, so Generic Super-Hero's should do fine as long as you don't get too close to someone's registered comix look. I think she (above) will pass- but then, I'm NOT a lawyer!

Now, see, if they'd used that design for the upcoming Catwoman movie, I'd be happy. Instead, they use some ugly street hooker outfit that's basically a bra and ugly leather pants, with this huge sci fi helmet! Ugh! Yours, Jim, is gorgeous, as usual. Your girls always have the most versitile builds, I have to say. Go easily from super hero to damsel in distress. :)

I'm going to go commit a crime! Quick, throw up the BatSign!!

Actually the origional cat woman was a hooker. That probably wouldn't go too well with the tv show so they changed her.

the Frank Miller catwoman was a hooker, the "Original" Catwoman from the 40's Golden Age was a thief who stole to keep the attention of Batman.

Oooo - nifty!

Thanks guys! I agree, the new Catwoman costume is pretty awful, it is a shame they didn't bring back M. P., too. I guess she is now too "old" though, oh well! I actually am trying to create a kind of generic (or rather do-all) costume, the belt, tail and epaulets and stuff come off, if desired. Plus other parts switch in and out, the boots have 8 different heels, and the cowl has 3 versions that switch, for example.

kobaltkween ( ) posted Mon, 08 December 2003 at 2:21 PM

cool! actually, this looks nothing like any catwoman outfit i've seen, and i've never seen her with a cape. i'd say you succeeded at making a "do-all" basic costume. i could see several different characters come out of this, depending on transmaps, textures, reflection and bumpmaps. nice job! oh, and who is it for? only your characters, or the basic v3?

Jim Burton ( ) posted Mon, 08 December 2003 at 7:39 PM

It is the ever-popular Glamorous Vickie, but I'm doing one for Ingenue Vickie too, her theme is racing (with helmets and goggles and stuff), GV's is superhero. If the sets do well I'll probably do one for V3 too, I've already got a theme for hers in mind. ;-)
