I just posted a new image in my gallery that might make a good Bryce texture for any of you who wish to download it (I won't mind). You can make a transpancy map by selecting the "lead" with hue or RGB and paste yourself a nice one, then maybe gausian blur it a bit). It's one of my favorite stained glass pieces and my holiday gift to all of you.

Thank you very much, I will do that. I'm going to try to find a suitable scene to use mine in. Maybe a library scene or something. I'd love to see what other people do with it. This is how it looks textured and leaded right now.

Ok what is happening english subtitle:"I'm so confused"? Are the leaded areas made with a terrain painted in photoshop and imported into the terrain editor to provide depth? Or is it just a picture imported as a texture.

Ricky, those colors are beautiful, especially the blues & purple. Ardiva, excellent lead lines, especially like the copper color. Here are a couple that I did in case anyone wants them.

I fell in love with stained glass many years ago and was very happy to see that I could create stuff like it with a graphics program. We're all so talented, aren't we? smile

These are all great! Very beautiful! I think the closest I have come to doing this are those crappy plastic/metal ones LOL! Oh wait are these real or rendered?

There are two ways I like to do stained glass depending on the effects I want. Both are material based (not terrain based). The settings for the first cattails stained glass are as set out above.

The settings for the second impage are as above. I use the transparancy map to punch up the ambience some more. (I call it the transparency map ... I don't use it for transparency in this case). Sometimes, I'll substitute a light gray for the white, sometimes, as in the first example, I just use the grey scale (although that will murk up the colors of any really dark glass areas).

Last, but not least, if I want a more uniform ambience, then instead of making my "transparancy map" -- or let's say my ambience map instead, instead of making my ambience map black and white, I make it black and medium gray. That gives me this type of image ... less variation in the ambience.

So in the third example, all I did was take the trans map and make all of the white areas gray. I really like working with color maps and plain white and black or gray and black (no texture) maps the best because it gives me the greatest control over the transparancy and the ambient ... so I can make each piece really look like a different type of glass if I want.

In this last example, I stuck a lighter gray in the trans map to highlight certain areas of the glass ... to make the darker glass pop more and to make the green glass look like two shades of green.

Oh hey, it's nice to have something I understand well to be able to share with the group. Creating stained glass textures and images is my "thing" ... love it ... could do it all day long given the opportunity. I've designed several windows in the real world, but always had another craftsman put them together for me. Personally, I love the reflections on the floor when the "sun" shines in my Brycean stained glass windows.
