Sharp image Donald, they look great! If I had those I wouldn't know what to do with them, so there's not point in getting them. lol! Jinx

'chelle - They're older Broncolor monolights. Got them at a good price because two of the heads were dead (came with monolights, three stands, three adjustable heads, barn door and a hard-shell case). Took me 10 minutes to figure out what was wrong with the bad units. Already ordered the wirewound resistor and metallized paper capacitor I need to fix them. Add to that the smaller monolight I picked up earlier this week (it's what is lighting the above shot) and it makes a good 4-light starter set for me to learn with. They are one 375 watt-sec unit (adjustable down to 1/8th power in 1/2 stop increments), two 175WS units (full and 1/2 power adjust) and one 135WS unit (steplessly adjustable down to 1/16th power). While I wait for the two parts to arrive, will be picking up 3 umbrellas and a softbox plus keeping an eye out for any of the Broncolor parts that go with this system. Not a bad setup for under $250 for everything. Yea, the Seikonic is -really- popular. I need a new meter myself. My old Flashmeter II just doesn't do it anymore. It's a good, fine meter that is still accurate. It just only does flash measurements, no ambient. From everything I've heard about the Alien Bees, you've made a good choice. You're gonna go for the Martian Pink color, ain'tcha. Hehehehe :) Most guys you talk to now are buying those or White Lightning (use to be Paul Buff, I think) monolights for starter sets and Speedotron or Novatron starters for heads/pack unit starters. I seriously thought about their DigiBee set (2x B400's, 2x 10' stands, 1 reflective umbrella, 1 shoot thru umbrella, cases) for $599. Especially when I was going to be taking that class (AB gives students a 10% discount). Jinx - I don't know what to do with them either, but I hear they really turn the ladies on ... so, I had to get some. :) hehehe -=>Donald

Alien Bee.... yup, I did a little more research and read lots of good things about them over at photo.net but what sealed it for me was that 10% student discount they offer.... Finally my student ID is good for something...!

I am, therefore I create.......
