THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: What should be in Bryce 6

Just curious what different features you would want to see new or improved in the new Bryce 6. I personally would enjoy easier to understand animations tools. Though that really isn't a feature. Sorry if this has been done before. (I don't think it has)

draculaz ( ) posted Sat, 13 December 2003 at 12:18 AM

it's actually been done to death, but hey, it's always nice to dream... as far as i'm concerned i want bryce to have modelling capabilities similar to wings3d, as well as better handling of its usual labs. I want to be able to add real-life cloud scenes to the sky lab, a less buggy tree lab, plus the major enhancements such as moving bryce away from processor rendering, hdri, caustics, etc. drac

Faster render engine and more realistic skies would make me happy. Oh yea, and radiosity.

Export of models using primitives, more PLANTS, not just trees, faster render engine.... If you want an extensive list just do a search for Bryce6 on the forum, there's plenty to read...;]

and for almost daily fotos

Real metaballs, modelling capabilities, faster rendering, radiosity, a plantlab insted of a treelab, displacement maps, caustics, collision detection, better handling of volumetric conditions such as clouds and lights, less memory demanding, a mindreader so I won't have to be disapointed when things don't come out the way I imagined them to.... this list could become very long.

A manual that surpasses Real World Bryce (and include a list of all shortcut keys) :)

foleypro ( ) posted Sat, 13 December 2003 at 8:18 AM

Everything above.... Realistic Price range...The ability for anyone to make Modules/Plugins for Bryce,This way we have the Ability to make Plugins that will let us Expand the Boundries of Bryce and also let the Higher End Programs speak Directly with Bryce... Customizeable all the way thru...If I want three window view I get it if I want several camera windows open at the same time then I want to be able to set it up... If we are going to be able to have a modeler in Bryce then we need to be able to EXPORT to all available formats...INCLUDING Gaming formats.... And the Best thing of all....I want the Ability to Take my Photographs of The Skies I take/Make and apply them as a PRESET sky...Maybe that means applying to a SKY BOX type of enviorment...

Aeolius ( ) posted Sat, 13 December 2003 at 8:47 AM

The ability to render more than one moon/planet More corals/sea plants Poser/Carrara interoperability Dual monitor support Brycetalk ;) (with built-in MetaSquares, of course)

shadowdragonlord ( ) posted Sat, 13 December 2003 at 11:03 AM

We are not making Bryce 6, anymore. We decided to skip it in favor of the more powerful, potent Bryce 9. Statistically speaking, nobody really spends money on version 6 of anything. Bryce 9 will incoroporate the Art Lab, which instantly makes art for you, making sure you don't actually have to DO anything. And the Mars Lab, which will instantly transport you to Mars. Bryce 9 will also feature the Wish Lab, which will let people with nothing better to do wish about what they could do if they had something better to do. Also, it will have every feature ever made, for every program, ever. EVER. Are you all happy now!??! (grins)

Hehe. That is seriously the funniest thing I have heard all day. Seriously. (of course, I just woke up, but still)

adh3d ( ) posted Sat, 13 December 2003 at 3:17 PM

i think that 3ds sequence import or obj sequence import will be great, because it not only permit import poser 4,pro pack or 5 scenes, but other 3d applications. Grass generator with wind. Real animated water. Particles.

Perhaps you can voice your suggestions at the attached link, where somebody is proposing changes for Bryce's owner (or whomever) to review if they decide to do anything about it.

Attached Link: Make the Moon brighter.

Make the Moon brighter, it has always rendered dim and required postwork brightening of it and any thing reflecting it. No biggie, I love Bryce, but this moon thing has always bugged me. Thanks Frank Hawkins
