Subject: V3 and M3 eye lashes (cel-shading)

Hey all... Just a quick question...I've been doing lots of cel shading in Poser 4's cel-shaded display mode (I'm a sucker for not having to wait hours for every frame of animation) but have been tearing my hair out trying to figure out how to make M3 and V3's eyelashes a little more managable...instead of the nasty blobs of ink that they are. Unfortunately, cranking up the transparency to 100% isn't working, so I wanted to check if anyone had found a solution before I start the tedious morph-making work. Thanks loads!

Fishnose has some "real lashes" props in freestuff for Stephanie and Vicky (probably V2)? You might be able to scale these for V3 and M3. It's the only way I've found of getting decent lashesd in toon mode.

lashes3.jpglashes4.jpg Yes, the default Vickie in Cartoon mode looks like Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra. Here are the morphs [found on 'head'] I played with to get control on the second image above: lasheslong -0.240 lashupfull -2.150 lashlowfull -8.987 eyelidsasian .653 Also usefull in controlling lashes: eyesbig eyedepth And of course, for the infamous eyebrow problem: browsgone .039 Good luck, ::::: Opera :::::

Good news...while I was tinkering with Opera's settings I had a stroke of inspiration (read: it was a typo) and discovered that if you set the two lash full settings into the extreme negatives (such as negative 12) then it zaps the lashes quite nicely...Now all I have to do is decide if I want to model new replacements or stick with what I've got. Thanks for the advice!

Be carefull not to set them to a TOO large extreme negative or they may start poking oput from the BACK of her head G I have had teeth doing that once. NOT a pretty sight LOL

I shoulda made an update for Anik's "Real Lashes" a long time ago... As for M3, we don't have him yet. I'll get on it & Ask FishNose if he wants to post them on his site. Give me a couple days, i have a Bad Cold, snif, sneeze... Here's a quick tip for adapting the Real Lashes" to other figures: 1- Load your figure's .obj(From geometries folder), with all options turned off(Import dialog). Then do the same for the Lashes's .obj. 2- Now, carefully position the lashes as best you can so they sit just on top of the eyelids. 3- simply export the Lashes to the same Geometries Folder, but with a different name. 4- Now comes the hard part: you have to edit the Lashes's CR2 with your preferred method(MorphManager, CR2Editor, etc..) -You need to change this line: "figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:Viomar:SM01_Lashes.obj" to "figureResFile :Runtime:Geometries:Viomar:NEW_NAME.obj" 5- Also you need to transfer the Channels(Joint Parameters) from your figure to the Lashes for the 'Chest, neck, upeck & head' Bodyparts... In Theory, you should have "Real Lashes" working for any type of figure this way & You can render in "Cell Shading" mode to your heart's content.. :-) Oh! There's another possibility: Once you've posed your figure & it's ready for render, select the head, click on the 'grouping tool', then create a new goup called "Lashes". Now, click on "include Material" & select "Lashes". (You see where this is going) Then click on "Create Prop"(Name it Lashes). Hide the Lashes on your figure. You can now render your figure in 'Cell Mode' & the seperate Lashes in "Normal Mode" with trans on... Marco
