Subject: New mat file won't "stick"?????

In mat room I have added a new mat file (node) to a figure and all is fine until I reload the figure (PZ3). When I reload the figure it comes back in white.....I have to go back into mat room, click on the figure and the mat applies (i dont have to reload the node). How do I get the mat to "stick" all the time??????? Poser5 and SR3 Thanks raptordude

umm.. i don;t use p5 all that often (i use pp), but from what you've said, it sounds like you open a pre-saved file, then apply your mat pose, if you don't save the pz3 file with the new stuff you have added to it, the next time you open it it, it will still be blank. I'm also wondering why you are appling a mat pose that way? A mat pose is usually applied from the pose library with a simple click of the mouse. A mat pose is a file that apllies an entire texture with all the correct setting, i didn't think you could do that in the material room... perhaps you mean a texture file. anyhoo... i suspect someone with more experience of p5 can help you more.

I haven't really examined this thouroughly, but you may gleam some insight if you read both the readmes in the two Netherworks Scripts available in freestuff viz: Poser 5 Reset MAT Script and Poser 5 MAT Writer (only 20 kb download for the two). Maybe there is a bug in Poser here?

Please clarify - by MAT file do you mean a shader node or do you mean a MAT pose file or do you mean a texture map? They are different things. If you mean MAT pose file won't apply, be sure you have a Figure AND a Body Part selected or the MAT won't apply - then you must save your figure to keep the material settings. If you mean a shader node, be sure your Image_Map node is connected to the proper input or it might be ignored when reloaded.
