Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 13 6:58 am)
I reckon the exporting facility is of limited use, never got good results yet. Only thing I can think to use it for is to export a LW mesh (& keep it invisible in LW) to aid with compositing. Vue not only renders it's own scenes better but much, much faster, I find I get the best results letting each application render what its best at then composite them together. THE big thing (for me) with Vue Pro is the LW to Vue camera synchronisation. Very nice.
DMM, I'm looking into the very same things - glad to hear the synchronization works, haven't tested it yet. Today I'll be getting XFrog, which everyone seems to recommend around here. Which compositing program to you use? I'm considering Prometheus/FX, it's fairly cheap and seems to do the trick. The others (Combustion, AE, DF) costs a months salary...well, mine, anyway... :(
Well until I leave college & get a job I do my compositing in Lightwave. If I can't manage the job with the background/foreground functions then I simply build a multi-layered setup & map each element to its appropriate layer. LW is fantastic, you can build a compositing rig in Modeller & actually use it : )
