Subject: Nepotism and self-congratulation ;)

Deliberately provocative title for a semi-serous subject. What I would like from you good people is for y'all to name your single favourite image from 2003, by another artist, and also one image by yourself - from 2003 - that you are inordinately proud of. You don't have to explain or justify, but please post away. My choices are: Favourite image: pookah69 and "Sniper Attack". If you haven't seen this gentleman's gallery, you damn well should do. Trust me, it is well worth seeing. My own picture: "Onion Peelings (All The Love In The World) The most painful, direct and honest work I have produced in a long time. Ok, have at it, good people.

Favorite choice would be anything by Cath, particularly featuring her Leonardo and Bryan textures for M3. I didn't start my gallery until this year so my vote would be a bit odd. Off the top of my head, I would say that "Noir" was my favorite. But I don't know if that's a cheesey choice. I'll let you decide which is my best, Sam :) Personally, I liked your "A Poor Substitute For A Human Being" for its simplicity :)

Hate to say this, but my personal fave is a 3-way split between "The Secret Hideaway" by Firebirdz http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=396660 "Siege" By Flak http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=322332 and "The Adventurer's Club" By ShadowWind http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=312889 Depends on my mood which I like best.

Of mine, I think "Child is Born - The Gift" is my favorite - Sentimental reasons I think.

Great idea for a thread, ST :-) I've had to really sit and think about this, I have seen so many fantastic images this year. But I think my pic (today... ask me tomorrow and it might change LOL) for the year is Hobbit's "Tayforn" http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=507603&Start=1&Artist=hobbit&ByArtist=Yes Of my own work, I'd say I'm most proud of "Self-Mutilation" (nudity and violence in this one) http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=467980&Start=13&Artist=karen1573&ByArtist=Yes

Ah! Cool idea. For other artist, an easy answer. No competition. I agree with leather-guy on Flak's 'Siege' image. The most remarkable Poser image I ever saw, I think. It's at http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=322332 For my own image: hmm..... this is like, 'Which of your children do you love the most?' Ouch! But okay.... I'll nominate my most recent one, since I think I'm getting better all the time. And still have a long, long way to go. It's called "Unique Collector's Item!". :] Fish

I'd pick two of my favourites from my favourite artists... "The Tsar's Hunt" by larissad "Bay Of Nymphs (north)" by picky & my own, I like my recent: "Lacing Up" by Me

Chas ( ) posted Wed, 17 December 2003 at 10:10 AM

Favorite based on what criteria? My answer would vary a bit. There's been lots of phenomenal stuff. If I could pick only one and only on general criteria (i.e. "based on everything"), it might be David Ho's: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=481503&Start=1&Artist=davidho&ByArtist=Yes Favorite of my own? I'm still not happy with where my skills are. :( Take care and Happy Holidays; Chas

Content Advisory! This message contains nudity

Cool topic idea! Okay, my favorite by another artist in 2k3 is: "Lethal Weapons PTII" by Toxic Angel http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=543996 From my own paltry collection, my favorite would be "Satin Seductress". Even though I can't look at it now without realizing many things I could have fixed. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=487516 Warning: Both referenced images above contain nudity. Cheers!

I don't have a favorite cuz I don't look at the gallery and since I'm not an artist, I don't have a favorite render of my own, either. Kate (who isn't here for the "art")

Riddokun ( ) posted Wed, 17 December 2003 at 11:35 AM

gosh, it is hard to poitn out just one picture out of all the good things i saw this year (and those i even did not see yet)... Despite there are many pictures that just let me stunned in many ways, one recent art really appealed me much: "Welcome to the baby machine" by Terrace-tenmou... (and all apologises to all other artists i respect and love works and i did not put here :( For my own gallery, it is rather small, and sometimes they are just experiments of a lame newbie (me) that try out to learn some basics in postworking and such... They even do not deserve mentionning... Even in my homepage, favorite artists and pictures listed there are only one cap of the whole iceberg of all the things i liked here... Anyway one i really like is "Ichigo Strike Erin", because it was the more complex i made using layers and anime style so far, and the first when i managed to use correctly textured clothes along with cartoon w/line mode, and also it is a vivid advertising for one freebie i put much time into, my strawberry collection...

This is the hardest question I have seen posted here this year. I can't think of only one, so I'll just cop out and say, "Anyone who had the guts to post in a gallery." I do like most of Hobbit's stuff. As for my own, small gallery as it is, would be "Favorite Flavour." Nude. It was the last one I did on my old computer before it died. Last P4 render and post was done with Gimp. My computer crashed every 15 min. It was not easy to finish the image. I also modeled the 2 main props myself, a feat in itself.

Wow, it would be such a hard choice for me to say. There was so many wonderful pieces of art this year, and I think the gallery gets better and better with each year as new techniques and technologies become available to us. I have lots of favorites for the year, but in different categories. I agree with Siege by Flak being the most incredible image I've seen in terms of sheer action and complexity. I read the making of and I am still amazed at how one could do that. Two artists really shined this year for me, and that is j-art and qmont, but again there was so many that I couldn't mention them all here... As for my gallery, another hard choice. I am really honored to see leather-guy pick Adventurer's Club. It is definitely one of my favorites as well, but Orca Fantasies: A Father's Joy holds a special place in my heart this year.
