Subject: Poser Morphs in RD5.5

I imported the p4woman in RD and moved some vertices around just like the book said and saved it to my HD. I opened up Poser and loaded Luna. I clicked on the head to load it as a morph target and it said "figure doesn't have the right number of vertices". What's that all about. I know it is the right .obj file because I looked at the cr2 file. Anyone. anyone? Thanx...Rik

Your information is a mite sparse. If you mean that you took the whole figure into RDS as a single group, then do this: Load the morphed figure into Compose. Select each of the groups which have had verts moved - separately - and save it as "figure_group_morph name.obj" and try this as a morph. If you are using an isolated group, then this message meand that you changed the number of verties as well as moving them., which means that it is a new figure, not a morph. You also may wish to check out MASA's MTMirror - it cuts your work in half and assures symmetry in your morphs.

Thanx, sounds good. What is compose and where can I get it...lol. Better yet, how about some info on this MTMirror thing. Rik

Compose is available here. It is a utility. It is Java(whatever that means) anyway it required another addition or two to work but all the information is at its Web site. The location of MASA's program is in a thread back down the way somewhere: search: MASA on this forum and it should show up (or in the archives, This place fills fast)if this is not it: http://www.eurus.dti.ne.jp/~masasi/index.html

"JAVA" : Just Another Vague Acronym :o) RDS5.5 will let you import all separate object groups, which translates to the body parts for a Poser figure. Use either the original .obj, or one that has been exported with the "as morph target" option. Work on one body part at a time- do NOT relink, delete, or add any vertices, or ir will no longer work as a morph target. Relinking does not change the count, but the order in which the points appear in the file can't be changed either. Export just the part you want to work on, or use the groups option in RDS. =};-}>

OK....this is a clearer vesion of what I did...lol. 1. Imported P4NudeWom.obj which is the .obj for Poser4 Luna character. 2. Double clicked the head and again to jump in. 3. Used the Sphere of Attaction tool to pull out the nose a little. (just to test it). 4. Clicked done for each to jump out. 5. Exported .obj as Nose.obj Then I opened poser and tried to load the morph into Luna's head and got the same error message as before. I've added downloaded morphs many time, so that's not the problem. Any ideas? I tried different .obj combos too. Same result. Am I forgetting something? Peace...Rik

Update...I just tried doin the same to the raptor. Got the same error message...hmmm.

Okay .. one thing you have to do is make sure when you open the obj in the first place that you don't re-size it at all ... Not sure what else ..

Yea...thanx all for the help. I forgot to delete everything except the head. Silly me. Once I did that, it worked fine. Thanx again. I really appreciate it, especially since this is the first time I've ever posted here. What a great group! Peace....Rik
