Just up-graded to P5 and am having a problem. When I rendered V3 (Hi rez maps) at 72 dpi everything was fine. But when rendered at 200 dpi the skin had dark gaps and ragged holes. It was like the tex. map had been torn

  1. You might try applying a displacement map using the original skin map at around .006. 2. Make sure you are not putting the bump map on the bump map channel at too high a setting or just put it on the gradient bump map. 3. There was a bug in p4 and I'm not sure if its p5 where, if you created custom geometry, any polygons not assigned to a group would get dropped. This is if you used the grouping tool to remap body parts. 4. What shadow settings are you using? Try turning off shadows and see if this effects the render? 5. Is this firefly or p4 renderer? Try the other renderer to see if it clears up. 6. If p5 try turing off "remove back faced polygons." 7. What FBMs are you using. Try turning off FBMs and see if this clears up. It could be a bad morph. 8. Do you have additional shader nodes attached for torso? I use the skin lighting shader. I sometimes mix make up and other shaders in as well. Check to see if those are causing a problem.

I used Firefly production render and low shadow settings. I always use low bump settings. Morphs are the standard V3 morph pack. I created the figure in P4 originally. Maybe that's the problem. This is on A Mac.

Is the cr2 drawing from the orginal obj file or is it using a custom obj? It looks like there's some kind of geometry damage. Did you try a render in p4 render mode? This would confirm if its fire fly or the geom. Next would be to turn off shadow and try FF. Also another thing would be to try rendering another figure at 200 dpi and see what happens.

Thanks for the help everyone. I found the answer in the RunTime DNA forum. Displacement was on and set without limits. Changing this gave me a clean render. "ynsaen" was the screen name of the person with this answer.
