Subject: Conforming thong leotard

Anyone know where I might find a conforming thong leotard? Not the strapless version offered by 3dwiz, but one with shoulder straps likened to the type worn by self assured ladies at the local health club. I'd be willing to pay for this if someone can make this for vicky 2, or 3. -Ruckstr

A question about this piece of clothing: I see DAZ is about to release a catsuit for V3 - the Ultra Cat Suit. What does the sleeveless Body Shirt do that the Cat Suit won't? Do I really need both? :] Fish

Momcat ( ) posted Sun, 13 April 2003 at 10:39 AM

I wondered that too, but when I saw the discount on the sale price with the Platinum Club, I figured what the heck. I needed it for something now anyway >^_^< I can't wait for the catsuit, but I'd REALLY like more clothing like the Sci-Fi Uniform, that has options for loose fitting styles. I'd love to see a set of baggy clothes for her, like a nice thick zippered hoodie sweat pants (though the SF Uniform does a pretty good job of the bottoms).

SnowSultan ( ) posted Sun, 13 April 2003 at 10:45 AM

Hi. Could you tell me where you heard or saw the news of a V3 Catsuit? I checked DAZ's site and didn't see anything about it. Thanks a lot. :) SnowS

SnowSultan, Daz made a post in the Product Showcase forum a few days ago (I know, I rarely go there either, LOL).

Ah, thank you for the link. I really didn't think of going there because I figured DAZ wouldn't be promoting their own products over here. ;) Next time I'll think to check there, haha. Have a good day! SnowS

Snowsultan, We use product showcase cause it was where all our WIP where being moved to anyway back when CL was toting the content paradise deal with Rendo. Was toldd this forum is only for the compamies that make content that ships with Poser.. Ouch! Guess the P4 stuff we made didn't count. Ahh can't ya feel the love? Fishnose, Hard to say really. Depends on what you are comfortable with. If you are a transmap wizard and have patience you could problably just use the bodysuit. But for leotards and such the shirt is easier to work with.

So the cat suit doesn't have the same large selection of zones then? I mean, I'll have to use trans maps all the way? Hmm..... :] Fish

SnowSultan ( ) posted Sun, 13 April 2003 at 6:22 PM

LOL, oh yeah, I vaguely remember Content Paradise. ;) Has DAZ ever considered having an upcoming or WIP page to show customers what's on the horizon? Fish, just do what I do to avoid making transmaps...render twice and composite the pics together like in my tutorial. :) When you're a slow artist who changes his mind 50 times during the creation of a picture like I am, it comes in handy. O-M-G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's...it's....it's a cat! It's a cat that looks like a cat!!!!! It has whiskers, and properly placed ears, and properly shaped eyes...eyes that look TRANSMAPPED! It has a realistic cat nose, and a realistic cat mouth, and a properly shaped head. It actually looks LIKE A CAT; and not some odd bug-eyed failed science experiment that can't even sit properly. ::GLOMP:: ::glomps Anton and Micheal:: >^_^

Now why the heck did you hide the cat in a thread about thong leotards? Did you confuse leotard with leopard??? The cat looks excellent. :) Oh, hoping, hoping, hoping for pretty fur textures too.

The general shape of the head is very good and very cat-like. I hope that there will be a morph to refine it so that it is less rounded and more fox-like (to cover more cat breeds). The eyebrows aren't quite in the right position, and cats do have muscles for moving them. Cats have about 6 times the number of facial muscles as we do... helpful if you can't talk. The eye shape is very nice. Can you make the lachrimal a bit more tear-shaped? Cats also have 3 eyelids, but the nictiating membrane isn't really necessary. Whiskers at the nose actually grow in curved rows following the curve of the upper lip. Skrogg has fairly evenly placed black dots with a whisker growing out of each. It would be wonderful if the whiskers can be made invisible. At least one of the morphs should allow for the tip of the tongue to hang out. It is the universal expression for happiness (some of the alabaster jars in Tutankhamun's tomb have a lion with tongue out and it looks just as silly as does my cat when she is getting a tummy-rub). To paraphrase from the Icelandic proverb: "When the cat's ears are near, the rest of the cat can't be far away." Carolly

:o) I know. Just wanted to point out that the type that most people (at least europeans) associate with a siamese is the "new" kind. Then there is the old style siamese, and the "appleheads" which is actually a third kind. I had an old style siamese prior to Basil (the one on my pic) On this pic he is with my now 12 year old daughter, so you can see it's an old pic G But also that he's clearly of another type than Basil.

Back in the '60's I had one with a crook in his tail (it's totally bred out of them now) and one with crossed-eyes. That's gone too.

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Thu, 17 April 2003 at 3:52 PM

hehe not totally bred out of them :o) Basil HAS a kink/crook on his tail (so he was cheaper) and imo he is actually rather cross-eyed too :o) But on the other hand it identifies him as a "true siamese" in the eyes of "ignorant visitors" ;o) - and since his colours are rather bleak - he's a lilac tabby point - he hasn't got the typical dark "mask" of a generic siamese :o)

Spit ( ) posted Thu, 17 April 2003 at 4:00 PM

True, you can still find them. But Frodo's tail had a 90 degree bend about 3 or 4 inches from the tip! LOL and there was no mistaking Samantha's eyes..they pointed to each other. But I think they're all beautiful. Scary smart too.

TrekkieGrrrl ( ) posted Thu, 17 April 2003 at 4:24 PM

OK, Basil's kink/crook is only about an inch from the tip of his tail. But it's there allright :o) Funny you should mention "smart". Generally Siamese are supposed to be smarter that the average cat. Well I've told mine time and time again, to no avail. They've both been downright DAFT! :o) The smartest cat I have at the moment is my abyssinian. She rules the house quietly but efficient. The 2 males (siamese and oriental) both THINK they have something to say, but they don't L But no matter if they're smart or stoopid, they're the most beautiful of breeds in my view. The aby is pretty too, but... she's not siamese :o) BTW, Anton, if you're still following this thread... it might be an idea to imcorporate a "tail kink morph" for the siamese ;o) But I s'pose it COULD be accomplished by simply bending the tail...

Actually you got a pretty serious answer in the second post here, from Anton. There's one available at Daz. If that doesn't suit your needs you'll have to further elaborate WHAT you want and why the Daz one isn't useable. btw threads are public here. Sorry if people enter them and starts answering them in ways you didn't expect. And it may be a good idea to start a new thread if you haven't allready, coz this one is buried pretty deep and the only ones to see this is the ones that have allready ruined it with "unserious" answers...

Thanks. I'll take your advice and let this thread die a natural death. I am grateful for the one response from Anton though I haven't been able to achieve the desired effect I was looking for with that product. I attribute it to my novice Poser skills. Perhaps you're correct in that I may not have been specific in what I was looking for. I shall attempt a new thread with a pic of what I'm looking for. Thanks again.
