Subject: Looking for an UP-Scale Apartment with Furniture

Philywebrider ( ) posted Sun, 21 December 2003 at 7:10 AM · edited Sun, 19 January 2025 at 7:05 AM

The poser aficionado's of this Forum has been a fantasic help in the past, I was hoping they could help me again. A Bachelor not bachelorette pad, so it is not pink or frilly. It has Black leather furniture, sort of a "den" with bookcase and books, maybe a few peroid items, like a globe on a stand, a desk, coffee table, etc. The author didn't specify style so it could be contempory/ modern with wood/metal/glass leather, or an earlier peroid with wood/leather. A large window, maybe a picture window or a multiple sash window. I picked up PW's Bachelor pad, (and it is good) but I'm still looking for accessories, (but if you know of another apartment...I'll look). textures for wall, lamps, modern or peroid (but still electric). Wine glasses, Wine bottle It is not your usual "NVWSIT" in fact only one charactor, male, (with suit). I got create some mystery/drama sort of a film noir. This is not for animation, so it needs to look "realistic" The items can be Purchased or freebies, but they must be available for Commerical work. Thanks again for your for any help. Thanks even if you can't help, I appreicate all the help you've given myself and others in the past.

I have a wine bottle in Free Stuff. No label on it though, it was one of the first things I ever made :o) I also have some texture packs for my floor prop, but some of them are looking great as wallpaper as well (IMO at least) - or if you have Dial-a-Tile or Poser 5 there are a large pack of tileable textures too, I made it for Dial-a-Tile but it's quite useable in Poser 5 too with the tiling option. Everything I make is ok for commercial renderings :o) (except for my Star Trek uniforms coz Paramount is the copyright holder there)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Expert's furniture packs are real nice. They're in 3ds format and look like expensive furniture. I also highly recommend Richabri's Luxury Apartment.

If you want something really upscale looking, with killer windows, check out Maniak's interior construction kits:

Deco Redux at DAZ may be useful, too. There's a texture pack - Luxury In Leather - which will give you the requisite black leather look. If the guy is a serious audiophile, lwanmtr has a very nice turntable in the marketplace. There are lots of free sites with meshes for speakers and amps, too.

This might be overkill, but have you seen the condo at Imagination Works? Comes fully-furnished, with Poser lighting and cameras already configured.

I can't help with the furniture, but my Room Creator pack from DAZ might be of some use. It's a room with windows and doors which you can position yourself and decide where to put them. All windows/doors have posable crossbars, roller-blinds, venetian blinds, etc. It's not an *instant* room, but if you need to create a specific environment, it may be what you need. The first expansion pack for it will be released in 2 weeks time. mac

Here are a couple that may be helpful: The Suite Complete http://market.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=9941 Cyphre's "IN YOUR ROOM" Set http://market.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?ViewSoftgood=24315 Expert has many ultra realistic rooms, some furnished, but they are in .3ds format though. Not sure what program you are using. Check out his store: http://market.renderosity.com/softgood.ez?Who=expert smitty72 Had a beautiful Tech Living Room set, With bookcase, Stereo, Big screen TV, Leather sofa, etc. I don't see it in the store anymore. It was on my Wishlist. But surely you could contact him via email from his RO artist page, to see if he can still make it available to you. You can also do a freestuff search for funiture, lamps, tables, etc. as there are many cool items available there. Many of then are for commercial or non-commercial use.

I like the condo at IW43d.com It comes with all the furniture already in it, and I think camera angles too. It's very very upmarket and nice. Check it out! Also you can use the furnature in other things if you need to do it. Love esther

There's some pretty cool furniture at Virtual Interiors and PlanIt3D, and eve the basic models at 3dcafe.com spruce up real nice with the right textures in place.

WOW great response! You've given me a lot to check out. I down loaded two rooms from Poserworld, another two from SAMS3D, and another from "expert". Sorry I could use "expert's" furniture Pak because "expert" says it won't work well with Poser. Maniak's stuff looks great, but too much for an apartment. TREKKIE, I found your wine bottle. Richabri's Luxury Apartment looks good. I picked up some wine glasses. The DAZ Deco Redux Rooms look really good. I still checking everyones recommendations, many many thanks.
