I decided to re-write my first version of this post.

I downloaded and installed the latest Beta 6 for Vue Pro (don't have the build # handy; I'm not at home), which I got today Sunday at about 5 PM EST.

VuePro now does not run at all on my laptop. When I click the icon, I get about one second of the hourglass, then that goes away, and that's it.

I have a Fujitsu C-2111 laptop, with an ATI Moblity M6 7000 DDR graphics card, Win XP Pro. Just in case anyone has similar equipment, you might want to pass on this one.

It was funny though, Win XP Pro said it couldn't completely delete the program. So I just manually erased what was left. I hope I can install it again all right, when I get back home.

Now that is interesting Norm I have an IBM Think pad with xp pro installed on it. I only have vue4.2 installed on it and was using it as a rendering tool not that it performed very well due to the limited ram I think. Not sure what the problem maybe however I understand this must be disturbing. I do know however Vue4 pro can really take up a lot of ram fast and I am not sure if a laptop can handle it. You got me thinking now however and I will see if can install it on my laptop. Thanks for the interesting problem to test out. Regards

Well after installing Vue4pro on my laptop I did get this warning: Your video board/driver could not be located on our list of qualified hardware. Your video board may not perform correctly with this soft ware...We recommend that you disable Open GL. However I clicked ok and the program loaded just fine and I did shut off open GL and it seems to perform ok. Surely not like my main frame PC but it does the job. Thanks for letting me explore this problem. I hope you find an answer for your laptop but I don't think laptops can do a very good job with Vue at least mine does not. Regards

Well its me again with the same problem i had last time i run xppro adn now it wont recognise poser at all due to the newest beta update. Now the only way i can get vue to recognise poser is to reformat the computer i hate doing this but its the only way to get it to work seeklight ps shame realy as before i updated i had vp working great o well

A shame to say the least I am working with the newest update that will be out I think soon at e-on's site. May I bother you to ask what type of system you have and exactly what build of v4p you are using? I have some free time for the next few days and would be glad to lend a hand with your problem. OH, it's a beta, and I knew this, so I'm not really perturbed or anything. I just wanted to post here so no one else with similar equipment or OS would have a problem. IF it ain't broken, don't try to fix it, cause then you can break up. I avoid updates like the plague, too many horror stories, and if my machine is running like a champ, why mess with a good thing.

Don't want to step on any toes but I think the last two Vue Pro beta updates have solved quite a few problems. They have for me. :o) Got to give the guys and gals at e-on credit for working to solve these problems we been having with Vue Pro. I think they have done an excellent job. :o)

Well said iloco, however I will take flogs advice when it come to my car LOL the new fixes make a big difference in performance. Vue4pro is a turning point in the history of Vue. Although Vue d'Esprit was not initially designed for professionals, it soon appeared that one out of two users started to do just that, for promotion, for advertising, and so forth. Pro was designed in response to those needs and interoperates with most major applications in the industry. It also requires more from your system IMHO so a whole new set of interesting problems can arise and e-on's dedicated effort to keep testing is commendable. Regards.
