Subject: Know how to import Vicky into trueSpace and apply the texture successfully?

Friends, This question has been asked quite a few times before and huge amount of details has been shared but I didn't get the answer I need.

Yes, I already searched through Poser & Bryce forums and read ALL of the articles that deal with the usage of Vicky in TS. Furthermore, I know P4 man/woman can be imported into trueSpace with perfect texture fit.

But what about Vicky? No single person or article states that Vicky can be indeed used in TS with the perfect texture fit.

I'd really love to get it working so that I can take the advantage of trueSpace's excellent rendering engine and the rest of great features. Someone please share your wisdom and skills for me. :-) Thanks in advance!

Nobody has answered your question and I'm afraid I can't either but I'm interested in purchasing truespace 5 when it comes out in the fall. One of the questions I had was about the import of Poser into that program. TS imports 3DS, Obj and DXF files amoung others but these are also export formats for Poser. I should think one of these would work.

Lindy, I did try importing Vicky in ALL of the available formats (e.g. 3ds, obj, dxf, and so on...) and found out none of them quite seemed to work. Especially, 3DS came out to have rough polygons when imported so I'd say it is the worst format to choose. The most seemingly candidate is OBJ format, which gives you "relatively" smooth polygons and visible texture, which is nowhere close to a perfect fit.

If someone cannot figure out how to make it work in TS4, I don't think just buying TS5 won't make things better as far as importing Vicky is concerned. Too bad it's so complicated. :-)

Thanks for your thought.

I am developing a plug-in called truePose that will import poser characters and animations (fully textured) to trueSpace 3 and 4. If you want to be on the contact list, please send an email to konan@spacemoose.com and ask to be on the truePose contact list. Konan
