I just logged into my DAZ account and found Stephie 3 waiting for me in my downloads - If you have a Plat Club membership go and get her!

I hafta wait a few days to buy anything for her, but at least I got her free, and I can use V3's second Skin sets with her, I think.

The text says she is 100% compatible with V3 textures, so I would assume that means even Second Skin (and other "body paint" textures). Good deal :D

ronstuff ( ) posted Mon, 22 December 2003 at 9:44 PM

Yes, the V3 compatible texture is a big plus, but I like the texture that they came out with for Steph - its good to know we can use that on V3 too. For Plat Club members the Head morphs, body morphs and High Res textures add up to $28.80 - not bad at all considering what we are getting. Of course that is $28.80 more than DAZ would have got from me if they hadn't given me the base figure for free. ;-)

lhiannan ( ) posted Mon, 22 December 2003 at 10:22 PM

and at least $30 less than they would have got if they hadn't given her away free (to those who would have bought the base, that is). I just installed her and put her in her dress. She's cute. First mil fig (non-toon) that I can say that about.

lhiannan ( ) posted Mon, 22 December 2003 at 10:53 PM

Comparison shot.... Ignore the weird texturing on Stephanie's dress... Twould appear the SPMD is not texture-compatible with the V3MD (Hey Daz, what gives with that?)

No morphs, just the Zinfandel makeup tex, SP Loose Curls, the ladies' own dresses, SP pose.

Well, darn... Renderosity's having it's snit again. I'll post it again later.

Dave-So ( ) posted Mon, 22 December 2003 at 11:19 PM

I tried the V3 head morphs, but they didn't load... couple of my character load, however... such as this April from RDNA

the head morph package seems pretty limited.

I'm a Platinum Club member, but there is no Stephanie Petite in my downloads ..... what gives ?

Crescent ( ) posted Tue, 23 December 2003 at 12:17 AM

mathman - did you buy M3 before 15 Nov? (I think that's the right date, I could be slightly off.) Only Plat Club members who bought M3 before a certain date got Steph 3 for free. Cheers!

Heheh, I was so happy to see Steph ready for download in my account this afternoon, I did up a quick render of her. There's "sort of" nudity in the pic--she's not wearing any clothes but none of the naughty parts are visible. So consider that a warning. Mathman: Did you also buy M3? IIRC that was also a requirement (in addition to being a PC member).

mathman ( ) posted Tue, 23 December 2003 at 2:49 AM

yes I did buy M3 before 15 Nov, and I got the Freak for free ..... I'm on a monthly subscription, and they keep on cutting my subscription off grrr

GabrielK ( ) posted Tue, 23 December 2003 at 2:52 AM

Maybe you should call or email them and try to get it straightened out. I've always found them to be helpful, although their email response time has been slipping lately.

BlueBeard ( ) posted Tue, 23 December 2003 at 8:06 AM

He isn't the only one! I bought M3 on 9/11/03, I checked the date. I still have access to PC forum, and can buy PC stuff, but no steph! I am not happy at DAZ. And you can't get a hold of them! At least here you can get ahold of someone almost anytime! But for DAZ is 9-5 only

Hmmm ... it looks like the main bodice might match between SPMFD and V3MFD, so manually fixing the sleeves wouldn't be that big a big deal.

elgyfu ( ) posted Tue, 23 December 2003 at 10:41 AM

I am dissappointed with the head morphs - where are all the ethnic diversity ones! I am not being PC - they were bloody useful for making genuine characters - not clones. However, the fact that she comes with basic expressions preloaded makes for a less stessfull time with basic posing. I have not yet downloaded the body morphs.

lhiannan ( ) posted Tue, 23 December 2003 at 11:04 AM

I haven't looked at the UV, but if the only difference is a bit of placing on the sleeves and upper chest/neck region, then a cut/rotate job in PS won't be too bad. If the mapping is just plain different (diff seams, ect), I'm still going to frown.

well, here's a thought...if you got SP free, then spend about the same value on clothes...all's even then...

ROSE: Now, Stephanie, we're not trying to pick on you -- MIKO: I am. R: Miko, hush. -- You just have to understand that we have limited resources. If you're going to demand a budget, you're going to have to offer something unique. M: And we already have a sasquatch model. R: Miko, that's rude! And it's not fair. You and I are both morphed; she's out of the box. M: That's kinda the point here, isn't it? Same mesh, same slicing, but she wants new morph sets because her dials are named differently. Can't just share like everyone else. Same with the clothes. Practically the same long dress, but she wants new textures because its mapped differently. R: Now you can't blame Stephanie for that. M: Oh, come on, she's a load and we both know it. 'Cording to the copy, that hair's supposed to fit her. Are we gonna get an update for that or what? 'Cause it doesn't. Can't even have her head in the same spot as the rest of us, for goodness sakes. At least Koshini brought SOMETHING to the party. Stephie here is in total load overdrive. R: She's just out of the gate. I'm sure if you give her a little time-- M: She has no butt. R: Now hold on there! That's no way to talk about our new-- M: No. I think she's hideous. She's skinny and buttless. Just no. (walks out) R: ^_^; I'm sure she'll come around. S: So can I get that dress or not, then?

lhiannan ( ) posted Tue, 23 December 2003 at 7:57 PM

It's not the same dress "recut". Apparently, Anton made the VFMD and Lourdes made the SPFMD. They just look similar... Sigh... Someone remap the sleeves and upper chest/neck regions please ??? :D LOL
