DarkMatter_ ( ) posted Tue, 23 December 2003 at 6:24 AM

renderositys script is not excepting new images to upload. older images before the problem occurred are fine.

I don't think the coordinators can fix the script. That takes the programmers and they might have actually been offline when the problem happened (I don't think we have a 24 hour help desk here). I think the problem has been posted in the Community Forum as well as here and I suspect will be worked on as soon as people have their morning coffee (it's 5 am in my part of the world). I agree, it is frustrating, but last night my service provider crashed and that was much more frustrating to me (I take things so personally). Take care...I think the cavalry will be coming to rescue the graphics soon.

Dr. Geep, you're a magician! Looks like, however, previously loaded images on the threads still can't be seen. I've tried "refresh" but it's a no go. I love technology. I hate technology.

I think it's working now. The images that didn't upload probably need to be uploaded again.

What can I say, sometimes the servers get a little cranky as well.

dialyn ( ) posted Tue, 23 December 2003 at 9:55 AM

I've been cranky for several weeks now...I can hardly blame them for feeling the same. At least they are working now. :)

{renderositys script is not excepting new images to upload.} Well, there's the problem right there: the scripts are set to "except" (meaning "do not include") uploads. Maybe they should set the scripts to "accept" (meaning "do include") uploads, then everything would work fine. I think I'll refrain from my usual "it's been running for years, why is there a need to "fix" something that's working fine" rant.

This guy is seeking psychological help....

geep ( ) posted Tue, 23 December 2003 at 6:39 PM

... or trying to explain the proper use of two common English words. Um, ........... I think I'll go with the latter. ;=]

Would you accept that explanation ... = OR = ... would you take an exception to that explanation? ;=]

And the correct way to say that would actually be: Would you take exception to that explanation? The "a" and "an" are usually only used before nouns. Is Doctor Geep going to be presenting tutorials on writing and English grammar soon? When will we have to start calling him Professor Geep? Is there no end to his talents? Why don't I do some work instead of hanging around in the forums?

geep ( ) posted Tue, 23 December 2003 at 7:15 PM

"The "a" and "an" are usually only used before nouns."

Um, 'scuze me but ...

The last time I checked my Funk & Wagnals dictionary, it had an "n" after "exception" indicating that it is a ...... noun.

'k?

It's OK, I have an excuse. I am not English, hee hee, so I am allowed to make mistakes. Dictionary? Now where have I heard that word before. If only there was some kind of book in which we could look up all these obscure words, then it would be so much easier.

geep ( ) posted Tue, 23 December 2003 at 8:59 PM

obscure? ...... isn't that an obscure word? ;=]
