Have you tried to save the scene and then reboot and try it again? Sometimes I have to do this myself however I can never repeat the problem so it is hard to report. There are ways to reduce your polygons as mentioned in another thread by turning off certain layers or perhaps save the high poly objects to be added last? Just some thoughts. Would like to hear more on this problem and if it is repeatable. Regards
#1. How do you reset the pivot point??? #2. My scene is already at 3million polys, it's the damn trees LOL So you are saying if I "hide" the layer it will help??? Thanks for all the advice...Am shutting the puter down & off to bed now...Since it will have tonight to "rest", I'll see what happens in the AM. Thanks again - will let you know what happens in the AM
Using one scene rendered as an alpha plane and then using it as a portion of your next scene is a great way to save on polygon count to be sure. If you group your trees and put them in a separate layer you can turn that layer off by clicking the small eye looking icon on the right. X-frog trees also can be made in a lower polygon count I think as I don't have that program I can not really test this out. I do know in V4Pro you can increase and decrease polygons in any given plant or tree in the plant editor and that really is helpful. Good luck on your effort no doubt you are learning a lot over all this and BTW so am I. Regards.
Hi, i think one thing you should check is "pivot point" as mentioned. Second. Can you resize the objects numerically? I do that from time to time simply to be quicker. Rough guess numerically, fine tuning then optically. What you can check as well are your preferences. Maybe you let Vue resize your objects automatically when importing them. Then you are maybe quicker where you want to be. BTW, 3 million polygons does not sound much to me. I normally end up with around 30 million - and i think most of us neeed so much. Even with imported trees - that slow down the system enormously. I normally import the trees, place them, put them in a separate layer and hide that layer. So that the workflow is not so slow anymore. Hope my thoughts can help you a little, Walther
One day your ship comes in - but you're at the airport.
Yes I can resize numerically...however it takes me a long time to get it precise. I will check the preferences..never thought of that. I do have all my trees on a separate layer. I try & keep similiar items on the same but different layer...ie lights/foliage etc. Thanks to all...getting ready to start again, after several cups of coffee. LOL Debby

I have a high poly scene going...all of the sudden my objects will not resize, they just get so huge it's ridiculous or the object when tyring to resize just kind of jumps around...I hope this makes sense. This is the 1st time I've ever gotten frustrated with this :(. In fact a a couple of items I imported(3DS & PZ3) wouldn't resize at all, it just went all willy nilly, kinda like a rubberband. Also on some objects that were already in my scene the rotate button has disappeared. I have the latest updates w/WinXPpro/1G of mem/120g HD(main one) with over half space available/2.6HGZ processor. TIA TIA
