Subject: Mkay, I have a question about what can be viewed in my gallery...

LovePyrs ( ) posted Sun, 28 December 2003 at 8:21 AM · edited Mon, 03 February 2025 at 3:47 PM

Yes, I know, a whopping two images...gotta make sure I don't exceed my one upload per day limit. >_> Anyhoo, I link to my gallery on my web site. I've had friends and family follow that link but not all images show up for everyone. I have Gloria, which is marked with nudity, and Stasia. Everyone can see Stasia, but not everyone can see the Gloria thumbnail. These people don't have accounts here, so filtering by preferences has kinda been ruled out. Any ideas or suggestions as to why Gloria doesn't show up for everyone?

There are internet filtering options built into Explorer. It's possible your friends/family have these set to censor nudity. I don't use 'em so I have no idea how effective (or not) they are.

I believe that nudity filtering is automatically enabled for Renderosity visitors. Yup. I just checked with a second browser. When I log out, go to your gallery and look, I don't even see the theumbnail for Gloria. When I'm logged in, I see both (because I don't have nudity filtered). Make sense now? :) bonni

Yeppers, Bonni, it does. =) So, here is my next question, in order for my visitors to see Gloria, would the "nudity" box have to be unchecked? And if so, would it be enough that the title of the image has a nudity warning in it? Another thing, some of the people who visited and don't have accounts, could still see Gloria, thumbnail and all. I'm confused as to why everyone wasn't filtered. Thank you both very much for the replies!

Here is a link that will help answer your questions :) Dee-Marie

No, please do not take off the nudity button - even if you put "nudity" in the title. The nudity flag is there for a reason. Like deemarie's post says, you can always send the individual URLs of the pictures as well. The Gloria picture's URL is: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=556717 Cheers! Cres

LOL Calm down, Cres, I wasn't going to remove the flag. =) I know they are there for a reason. I was only asking for information purposes. Dee-Marie, thank you for the link, I really do appreciate it. However I still have some confusion... From the LadyNimue via the link provided: "1. The only way for visitors to view your Renderosity Gallery "without" becoming a Renderosity members, is to send them the following URL [to view your the whole gallery]: http://www.renderosity.com/gallery.ez?ByArtist=Yes&Artist=LovePyrs OR You can send them invidivual Links to specific images - For example: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=??????&Start=??&Artist=LovePyrs&ByArtist=Yes 3. The Important Thing to Remember is that the URL's Have to contain your Nick". In other words, you can not click the "send a friend a link to this image," because that link will NOT have your nick in the URL. 4. All visitors will be able to see All of your images! That includes the ones with nudity." Okay, I've always had the link on my web site to my gallery using the "http://www.renderosity.com/gallery.ez?ByArtist=Yes&Artist=LovePyrs" link. As I've said, some -can- see the nude picture, while others can't. I've asked a few of the people who couldn't see it if they had any filtering on thier browsers, and they don't. I've followed Lady's suggestion with testing the link by signing out and come back as a visitor and my nude image does not show up. Lady states in #4 that all visitors will be able to see all my images, even the nudes if I use the "http://www.renderosity.com/gallery.ez?ByArtist=Yes&Artist=LovePyrs" link. But it isn't working.

Crescent ( ) posted Sun, 28 December 2003 at 12:11 PM

This one worked for a direct view of "Gloria": http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=556717&Start=1&Artist=LovePyrs&ByArtist=Yes I logged off, then used that URL and I was able to see the image even though I was a visitor. Cheers!

LovePyrs ( ) posted Sun, 28 December 2003 at 12:18 PM

Uh huh, I know the direct link to the individual images work, but as the lady who made the topic Dee-Marie linked to, I want visitors to be able to view all of my gallery like they are supposed to be able to do. =) Picky, yes, but if it's supposed to work by directly linking via the "http://www.renderosity.com/gallery.ez?ByArtist=Yes&Artist=LovePyrs" link, I want it to work.

Hey Geoegress, I actually have been a member of Rendervisions for awhile now. Thanks for reminding me that I have other places to "show off." ;P cough BTW, I was only poking fun at the one upload per day thingy. Pfft, if I ever make it to one a day, I'll faint. It's more like once a month or every two months! LMAO

LovePyrs, I've had a similar problem. I'll send friends a link to an image and some can't see it. Just a blank box with an "x." But others can. My guess is that those that can't have something disabled (or enabled) in their browser. Cookies? Images? Some other security feature? I'm not sure what...haven't really investigated it thoroughly.
