The water looks great except would like to see body trough water and can only barely and some body reflections off water ....so what i need is to get the tile to reflect...you know look shiny and have a little bit of relection.......help please.

Much appreciated,

Timmylynn

Howdy. Ok. The following are my suggestions. I did screen caps. I hope it shows up well. Please forgive the large size.

This is the first of 2 images for the water.

This one I think works well for deep water.

And this is for what I call pool water.

And heres the tile. Now please note that the reflections dont really show up well simply cause theresnothing else in the environment to BE reflected.

LOL I hope this helps. I have these shaders saved. If you or anyone would like them, just shout out.

I'll be giving those a try...

so the nodes you have set up on your tile screen shot should reflect my model and the pool of water he is sitting in? Also i noticed on your screen shot of the tile that the lines are rending erradically for the grout. Mine are doing the same. What is causing this and how to correct? Thanks

CDI ( ) posted Mon, 29 December 2003 at 9:08 PM

LOL Nope. Theyre just simple suggestions. I threw the shaders together rather quickly. Farely simple ones. You should probably use them as a starting point and then modifiy the hell out of them to suit your own needs. About the tile: Im not sure I understand what you mean. Erradically? The tile is the basic tile procedural node, completely unmodified.

there is a setting for the mortor...i said grout before ,,,sorry. On my renders the tiles are very small and the lines the separate them, the mortor, renders thick in some places and very then in others. It does it on your screen shot. LOL

CDI ( ) posted Mon, 29 December 2003 at 9:17 PM

LOL OH Ok. I apologize, Im not on my home computer with P5 on it or Id check the settings. What settings have to do with the motar?

TIMMYLYNN ( ) posted Tue, 30 December 2003 at 5:53 PM

it is a parameter dial when you start a new tile node. It has one for tile1 color and tile2 color. I think the the mortar setting is next but i have to open p5 for sure and dont have open right now...anyway thanks for your help ....anyone else got any suggestions???? About getting a shine off the tile. I've tried using the glossy node and the pfong node into the alt specular. Maybe it should plug into specular...anyway experiment experiment....that render takes a few though
