maclean, I used part of Moyra's suggestion. I created a gold 1000 x1000 new image in PP9, added noise. I used this as both the texture and the .bmp (at 100%). I took the Dal's winter reflection map, resampled to 550 x 550 and made it gold (changed hues). I then applied to the dress--object black, highlight white, gold reflection map at 70%. It is getting close. You could tweak this a lot and get even closer of course, but its a start. Oh, used white lighting-fairly even. Diane B

Nice job picnic! Have you considered using a less random, more geometric pattern for the .bum rather than noise? Perhaps something like tiny mosaic squares to add to the metal flake look? (& posted yet?)

I had one started with a more geometric pattern last night but never finished it. I was working with no tex and just a reflection map and a .bmp and it was coming along, but I hadn't gone further. Maybe I'll post a variety of choices.. Seems I don't have time these days to get involved in a complex image so work on these kind of things that I can accomplish in a shorter time. Keeps me involved with Poser anyhow G.

Wow, picnic! I'm impressed! It looks really good. I've been trying out a few different things myself since last night, using various suggestions (Big thanks, everyone!) and I'm getting closer to what I want. One of the things that works is from the Freestuff, a txt/trans for a Victoria dress by James, which uses a slightly bizarre technique. A transmap and bump, both just square maps of fine net, which map onto any outfit, with a refl. map for the color. It's a pretty neat solution, but it doesn't allow me to re-map the dress (I want a really low-cut effect, so I'm trying to find a way round that. The pic I'm working from is of a Ralph Lauren outfit with tiny squares on the lamwhich is what I like about it, but tricky to do. Will now go back and try it with yours, picnic, (hope you don't mind!) and see what I get. Lots of thank-yous again to all maclean
