GoodBye 03 and WelCome 04 & Something That Has To Be Said So this year ends soon ... A year of up and downs - like most years. The community thoughts Last year we saw the new rising star on Poser-heaven. It is/was Poser 5. We saw it come down to earth this year. Still people do have problems with that - there's still not everything working as smooth as it should. Later on this year we waved goodbye to Egisys. I have not much to say to this only: I'm sorry for all the people there who put their heart into this product. I hope you'll get a new beautifull job soon. So we say hello to e-frontier or should I say konnichi-wa :o). I hope you can do help Poser 5 to a beautifull and functional product - together with Curious Labs. Then exact in time for christmas we saw the long beared child come to life: The DAZ Studio. Will it be that functional and beautifull and/or fill the gap Poser 5 seemed not be able to fill ? Is it supposed to do so ? For the products it seemed we have an interesting next year ahead :o). But what happened inside the community, the market etc. ?? I saw a lot of beautifull things raised, for buying and for free. Still I'm very happy when I see someone is doing freestuff. Too bad my big contribution for the freestuff section was not finished (for English-speaking Poser users) this year - but I can say: The finish is close (AND it WILL help you doing poses - so much I CAN promise). And I see also another thing raised :o(. It was hate. It came together with sister jeallousy and brother greedy. Artist are fighting against artists - merchants against merchants. Sometimes it seemed this old spirit we once had was totally gone away (well, I got that impression): Love and understanding, helping the other one out (even if it's NOT for money). Once this community was like that. We were happy and thankfull for every contribution - it changed and I have to say: The old times seemed to be over. But of course I see hope - else I would have long gone ... Should it not all be for the enjoyment of art, fun or even Poser? Why putting all this bad energy into it. This world is bad enough. This world has problems enough ... We're all here because we love 3D - we all have something in common - and that's not only hate. **************************************** So - as every year the new years wishes of mine: Dear god (hey !! I believe you pretty much covered in a few words the entire year. Your words hold wisdom, whereas so many people wasted so many words this year in protest and dissatisfaction over trivial matters. The sad thing is that a lot of what you have said will probably have to be repeated year after year...some folks just never get it.
