Hello, It's been a long time since I used my vue 4.2 and poser 4. (I have poser 5 but not comfortable with it yet...) I am trying to import a pz3 file into vue, but it keeps giving me unable to read .pz3 error. I must be missing something. Does anyone know to import .pz3 file to vue 4.2? Thanks.

Hello Klisis good question and has been covered a few times here in the forum and there seems to be many opinions on this subject. In the search link under the main table click search then type in (import pz3)and a whole list of threads will show up for your reading and direction to help you with this problem. Thanks for the information. It looks like patching vue 4.0 to 4.2 was a mistake. 4.2 is failing to import poser 4 files while it does import poser 5 files. I am told it's just me. I am not sure why. I uninstalled and reinstalled with vue 4.0 and did NOT patch. I can import now. I guess I will not be patching vue 4.0 to 4.2 unless ... I have to import poser 5 files.

How odd. I guess I didn't run into this because I import Poser 5 files as a rule (well, for the whole three times I've tried it).

I have Vu e4.2 installed as well as Poser 4 and Poser 5. I don't use much Poser 5 yest, because I need to learn it. But I can import both Poser4 and 5 pz3 files into Vue 4.2, in doing this: I have Poser 4 on one HD and Poser 5 on another HD. I have renamed both folders to simply "Poser". First time I open then Vue 4.2 and try to import a pz3 from Poser 4 OR Poser 5, Vue will ask me again to locate Poser.exe. I locate the one or the other (from P 4 or P 5) and it works. Later it will work from both folders, as they have both the same name and Vue understands it should import from a "Poser" folder:-)

This happened to me after reinstalling Vue. I solved it by renaming the file Poser5.dll which is in the Vue folder (rename it to anything you like). When you try to open a PZ3 in Vue, it should ask you where your Poser file is. You just remind it and Bob is your auntie's new husband. I hope it works for you!
