Subject: share cr2- question

Mec4D ( ) posted Sun, 04 January 2004 at 9:12 PM · edited Mon, 03 February 2025 at 8:48 PM

Hi, I have question, can you share c2 files created from V3 and M3 that include only the separate morphs created not using the standard dials but other software? I plan to import all new morphs onto the model and save as new cr2 files that will not include the rest of this original stuff so you can add your injections as well if needed.. how many chance I have for share the final cr2 file? If I can.. Thanks for your help Cath

Oh thanks!! "These morphs CANNOT be redistributed in whole or part, either as injection poses(as purchased) or as deltas within a CR2 file." from what I understand that my OWN morphs can well shared as deltas within a CR2 file and V3 or M3.. I am correct? I think well. if not please correct me, you never know there what you can and what not, and that will waste of my time if I get it wrong. LOl Cath

At this link under the header: "Morphs - Ways to distribute your morphs for Victoria 3:" explains the ways allowed to distribute V3 morphs, and should be the same for M3 and S3. http://www.daz3d.com/support/index.php?id=14

Get Injection Pose Builder at DAZ. It's the best way to share your Vicky 3 & Mike 3 characters.

Yeah but Injection Poser Builder only work on EXISTING morphs though. Not morphs you have created with magnets or external packages.

For the user, it's much nicer to have a simple cr2 to use.

To be really sure, I would email Steve and ask him about it.

ernyoka,I was thinking about getting IPB,but now you raised a question for me,with what you just said. If I morph and reshape the unimesh (Vic3,Step2p,etc)in a modeling program....add the morph targets in..then save the cr2...... I can't use IPB to make a inj file from that? Curious,SWAMP

I work on a model that the base is the unimesh of one of the models, for example Stephanie have already some morphs in own cr2 files so if I add my own head shape one or 2, and save as a new character then it will simple to use her in place to inject files and play with the dials to get the same effect, I do this with all my characters so when I need I just click and everything is on my screen without to search for right injection. This way the character looks direct as I wish + have direct all correct surface material setting what is the other good side of this simple file. You get or buy a character so I wish you get complete character without a note: you have to own head morphs, body morph etc.. and long Readme where to find everything, who have the time for this.. I love to keep things in a simple way. click and clear the cake. From what I read at Daz I can do this as we did this before using Michael 1 and Victoria 1 just share cr2 files included the original morphs done using modeling program. We can't do this only with Victoria 2 and Michael 2 because that are already only cr2 files. Cath

No, IPB only makes use of the dials allready on the character. So custom morphs can't be added with it :o( This is why we NEED Daz to release Dark Whisper's Injection Majick! They bought it, why are they SITTING on it?! I WANT that program! :o( Alternatively, Ste's "Pozer's Little Helper" should be able to do the same. I just can't get it to work :o(

Thanks for clearing that up for me trekki... Don't think I'll buy IPB,since(with what you said) it has limited use for me..(I'm a morphing maniac). Thanks ,SWAMP

The trick I had to do with PLH was to take the original .obj into my modeling program, export it unmodified, then make my mods to the mesh and export it again. Then use PLH to compare those two exports (the before and after). That worked fine. The first time I tried it I fed it the original .obj and my modified one from my modeler and because there was some difference in the accuracy of the .obj it made morphs for virtually every virtex in the mesh. But by exporting an unmodified copy to use as the base then both meshes had the same obj accuracy and PLH just made morphs based on what had actually been changed between the two, as it was supposed to. (I hope I explained that right)
