Thank you all! And YES dialyn, I thought the very same thing :) Couldn't have happened at a better time, what a wonderful way to ring in the New Year :) You could have knocked me over with a feather when Clint phoned me with this news! Oh heck, I think I'm still in shock :) Thanks again for the warm welcome! I look forward to working with you all, Deb

Debbie M was guilty of Copyright infringement in the past, and now she's checking market products??! I posted the relevant thread. LisaB was the person infringed upon.Calypso Dreams... My Art- http://www.calypso-dreams.com
You failed to point out that DebbieM offered an explanation that was accepted by LisaB as being reasonable. I hope people take time to read the whole thread because it could happen to any of us, and it seems to me if LisaB was willing to accept DebbieM's explanation, the rest of us don't need to resurrect a dead issue. In fact, Mehndi herself posts on the thread that it happened to her. No malice was intended. Apologies were made and accepted. DebbieM has moved on and no doubt learned from the experience. So should we move on.
I'm usually the type to acknowledge that people can make mistakes. However, considering all that has happened lately with textures, you'll have to understand why someone may feel cynical. While LisaB's acceptance does hold weight (very nice of her), I do find it odd that you pointed out to me and put emphasis on what Mehndi said. I don't go by what Mehndi says, surprise surprise. :D I'm just as likely to praise Rendervisions (neato galleries), Daz (great products & customer service), RDNA(great service, nice forums), and 3DArena (excellent forums) as I am to praise Poserpros (great products, customer service, nice forums). ;) In fact, the new rating system by Renderosity is a step in the right direction. There's always more that can be done to improve things all over of course.

I am just saying that it has happened to more than one person. It is a matter of indifference to me if it was Mehndi or someone else (she just happened to be the person who posted that it had also happened to her). I don't know what your motives are for bringing up a situation that was resolved peaceably between the two principals. I have only your track record of postings to go by to draw conclusions about what your interests may or may not be. I am sure you have only the highest motives in mind, and are working for the good of the community, as I hope all of us are. But perhaps this isn't the appropriate thread to drag out old threads and cast inuendo on a person who has asked for and been granted forgiveness by the only person who really mattered in the affair. My views have nothing to do with any other website, and I have no interest in what other websites are concerned themselves with in their forums since I rarely visit them or read their postings, and have no interest in their views on Renderosity. It is rarely beneficial to compare different sites since they tend to have different personalities even when the same people visit them. I am glad for Debbie M and I am sure she will do an excellent and honest job. At least, I am willing to give her the same chance as anyone else who admits a mistake. I hope she will be allowed to celebrate her promotion and people will give her a chance to prove herself in this new role.
And this, folks, is a prime example of why these things should be handled privately. An honest mistake obviously occured and based on the resolution she could (should!) have been contacted personally, given the chance to examine the complaint and offer an explaination and a fix and the new product uploaded for buyers without something like this coming up against a good person a freaking year later!

I remember the incident with the Poses. I read the explanation and read LisaB's response, saw that the customers got a refund and the product was pulled, and I thought the matter was finished. Since the person suffering potential financial difficulty was LisaB and she was happy to settle the matter, I don't understand what the issue is. I'm quite angry about copyright violators abusing the trust of the customers and ripping off other merchants and artists, believe me, but I still believe that a mistake is a mistake, and since it was settled amicably for ALL parties concerned (including the customers who bought the product), AND it resulted in R'osity being quicker to remove questionable items when a complaint is filed, it seems to me that all's well that end's well, at least in this case. bonni

A person's past is a person's past, and there is no guarantee that they will not repeat their past actions again (might even have and just not got caught). Hell, a year isn't that long ago. I find it convienient that some people are granted clemency and pardoned, while others of equal (or even lesser) crimes and arguements have it held against them. This is not a personal attack, or libel, against anyone, so don't get your panties in an uproar (unless you like playing the part of the big evil R'osity and enjoy seeing people leave).
Look on the positive side. This will mean that there is one admin who is very aware of the need to check items for copyright violations prior to putting them into the marketplace. If the number of merchants is continuing to increase, copyright violations are also likely to increase without careful vigilance from experienced people like Debbie.
First I'd like to congratulate Deb on her promotion to the Admin Team and second I'd like to say that the pose issue was resolved and I accepted that the infringement was an accident. The way Deb described what happened could have happened to anyone and especially so at a stressful and emotional time of life. The product was removed, the customers were refunded and apologies were given and accepted. We all make mistakes and we pay for them sometimes far more than anyone could know. I know I've made a few and will undoubtedly make a few more. I may not always agree with administration here and the way things are done but I do give the PTB the benefit of that doubt in that Deb has obviously proven herself worthy of the admin position here or they wouldn't have promoted her. Again, Congratulations! :)
