Unless this person is Linda Bergkvist - which I doubt - this is stolen artwork and should be removed immediately.

In the beginners gallery no less.... Will bring this to the attention of those that will handle this... I've found the original image by Linda Bergkvist in her gallery and it will be investigated. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Michelle A. Renderosity Moderator

You can see the original, plus all her other work at her site.

She is a very talented young artist.

I do not know who posted the image here, whether it was her or not. She is not beginner though, that is for sure.

If you go to her site, click on her name at the bottom of the 'frame', that is her copyright information and information about using her artwork.

Hey the image was removed, i did not get to see it. What was the original called?

Xena ( ) posted Tue, 06 January 2004 at 11:54 PM

The original image that Linda did is called 'All That I Loved Is Gone'. Don't know what the theif named it.

Wow her work truly is awesome. But that is horrible that someone is trying to claim her work as their own. -LeFrog

yeah I am a big fan of Linda's work (it's amazing). There's no mistaking ... that is her work. In this age of Instant Gratification though, it doesn't surprise me anymore how people will just take someone else's work and claim it as their own. Infuriating? Yes Surprising? Not anymore ...

pierrecolat ( ) posted Wed, 07 January 2004 at 12:52 PM

so what has happened to the person that posted this picture in the gallery?

elizabyte ( ) posted Thu, 08 January 2004 at 10:31 PM

"so what has happened to the person that posted this picture in the gallery?" Here's my guess, based on experience and past events: NOTHING. bonni

as unfortunate as it is I think elizabyte is right.

Just wanted to update you all since you are all wondering what happened. Within minutes of Xena's posting and my coming upon her post here, the image disappeared from the members gallery, but not before I was able to see it, and track down the original artists rendering. Since the image had disappeared (pulled by the member, I am guessing) the only thing that could be done was to send a stern warning with links to both the TOS and a link to the copyright forum and relevant articles, letting them know that copyright is a serious issue and would not be tolerated. A record of the event has been made. I view copyright infringement to be a serious issue the same as all of you. I did not want to let this be forgotten about, so I took the actions I thought necessary to make sure they did not do this again. Not that it excuses the actions of the member but it was their first day (they had just registered). Michelle A. Moderator

"I did not want to let this be forgotten about, so I took the actions I thought necessary to make sure they did not do this again." Well, I am surprised. I hate to sound so cynical, but the fact is I am cynical. :-) I like to be pleasantly surprised, though, and I am. Thank you for your reply. bonni
