I know there has to be one out there. Is there a software that helps you to develop your own poses? thanks--Essie

PandaPride ( ) posted Tue, 06 January 2004 at 9:52 AM

lol no silly. there is a software outside of poser that you can make your own poses with to apply to your poser characters. I know theres on out there, I thought I saw one on the site for steve cox's UV mapper web site, but I can't seem to find it now.--Essie

I'm a bit lost. Why on earth would you want something to do what Poser is designed for? Maybe I'm missing the point... it just seems like saying "I want to get Paintshop Pro so I can take stuff from that into Photoshop." Have I misunderstood?

Essie, are you thinking of BVH files? Those are built from specialized video recordings of real-world motions like dance steps or athletic moves, and can be used in Poser. Another "pose generator" outside of Poser is Mimic and other lip-sync programs, which generate animated PZ2 files for the face to match the sounds of speech. But aside from that, I have to agree with the other comments; Poser IS the way to design poses.

The only "software outside of Poser" I know of are the Expression Construction kits sold at DAZ. But, of course, they're only for expressions. There are the Pose Construction Kits at Poser Style, but they work inside of Poser.

You can use Partial Body Poses, along with Body Part Lock poses to help creating poses. I can't remember where they are available, bit I seem to recall getting some from either 3dArena or RuntimeDNA.

you know I don't think i was seeing things, I found something to where you could create poses outside of poser and save them to use within poser. I sware i did.

But why would you want to buy something that you can already do in Poser?

pandapride it seems you are perhaps thinking of MAT poses?

Credo Interactives, Life Forms maybe? It's mostly for BVH I believe, though.
