January's Challenge is set by Drawbridgep (Phil) and Dennisld (Dennis), joint winners of the October Challenge and set aside until this month to allow for the Christmas Challenge.
The Challenge Theme for January is 'Realism with Bryce - Undersea'.
We think it a difficult subject for Brycers in creating the atmosphere and ambience of the sea beneath the waves and therefore a worthy challenge to even the best of our artists.
Parameters for the Challenge as follows.............
Image to be under the sea and NOT river, pond or bathwater and not a split scene or above the sea.
The main attribute should be REALISM within your image as you see it in an undersea environment and we would ask when judging the winners for voters to consider this aspect of the entries in the first instance.
The usual objects, meshes and picture imports are allowed, mermaids are fine, futuristic subs are fine. Fantasy and Sci-fi themes are o.k. as long as the undersea environment is the prime consideration.
This is mainly a BRYCE challenge so please be minimal with postwork, perhaps just contrast, colour adjustment etc.,
Renderosity is a place that lets us show and share our ideas. It's through sharing ideas that we've been able to push Bryce beyond it's original premise and in most cases push ourselves to create better and more original art.
We wanted to create a challenge at the very heart of Renderosity that would inspire people to be creative and push the envelope within a more confined environment.
Undersea might sound too confining, and our rules more restrictive than a normal challenge but we know you people, we know what you're capable of and we are confident that we will see artwork that will be inspired and more varied than either of us possibly imagined.
We'll do our best to answer any questions you may have.
