I think you should keep working...I'd want this if it were available. Forgive me for this, please, let's not degrade into a flame war, but she's needing some non-asian textures to compliment the asian ones that everyone else is making. I think the above texture would be a great addition to the MayaDoll legacy.
Yamato's stuff is really nice but non-commercial only, the last I'd heard. I don't know if I'll ever be good enough to do commercial art, but I'd rather not take a chance and mix in non-commercial stuff. As it is, I need to weed through my Runtime and take out all the non-commercial stuff. (It may be faster to just format the drive and install from scratch.) Cheers!
My only quibble with the mayadoll has not changed ... the breasts seem too high on the ribcage to me. Also, they are difficult to morph down. I think bodyhandles like on Sara would be excellent ... but I haven't the faintest idea how to do that. My MayaDude was made as an experiment "can I make a girl into a boy" and the answer is, yes sorta. I've experimented on a muscle morph but haven't had the time to put into it. Also with the amount of work involved I'd have to sell that one. As for the lack of clothing for Khrys's male morphs, you can make your own in Tailor if you have it. To Tailor to the Mayadoll or any derived model you must DELETE the mouth props and set all morphs to 0 before loading the cr2 into Tailor. also see the other thread with Khrys's new male genital prop for the Maya figures ..its looking very ...um .... boylike grin Fishnose Her neck seems fairly thick to me .. any slimming morphs there? also any heavier morphs? or just skinny model type morphs? my customers and I prefer curvier girls you see :) Lyrra
well the breasts are satisfacory to me, more than most previous popular characters/models i saw (except yamato's that are really good). But it is true, they hare hard to morph, anyway. Lyrra: i don't understand what you mean by 'too up/high on the ribcage, i guess not every women had breasts that drop down too much. For what i know of japanese/asiatic girl morphology, some of them have firm breasts located quie up the ribcage though. But who care, it is a matter of taste at start, yet if you cannto make them behave the way you need, then well YEs, it becomes another issue/problem.

Time to make a review of pastr year, regarding Mayadoll and Animedoll... A wonderful and free brand new character, that survived a whole summer full of V3 and V2 without dying. A wardrobe that begins to become quite respectable, an attempt of Male morph by Lyrra (with some cloth poses too), many hairs compatible with (thanx to the hair cut poses fits...), a few characters/textures (commercial or free) and a bunch of character morphs too. A really likable asiate look too, and some clever thought put into geomettries/material designs (hands, hips/thighs, genital and eyes smartprops). Another thing i like is the twice jaw and tongue system as props. A friend of mine cannot bear it, but I find it very useful. Commercial counterpart, animedoll, is equal in most points, wardrobe is compatible between both, mostly, and some of most basic morphs (for cloth compatibility, such as nonipple) were made twice (because animedoll geometry on collars/chests and obviously head are not the same...). The anilmedoll have very impressive male morphs too (commercial, by khrys, or free by DJ han, but no cloth fixes for them). But Mayadoll and Anime doll still both suffers of some drawbacks that were never adressed, and I am sure some talented people could fixe some of the issues without too much pain maybe. When i see what people like lyrra or dj han achieved with magnets, I just am impressed and full of hope/ Here are (in my opinion) some problems in Mayadoll. I now it is presomptuous of speaking them out loud, because I cannot fix gthem myself, so how dare i criticize Maya's generous work ? First because he stated once ago that it was a young new character and needed efforts, both in criticism, testing and modelling/morphing from communauty, to each of us' extent and abilities... Second is that if mayadoll is free, animedoll is not, and as a customer, i feel it is rightful to point at things that could be fixed or at least talking about them without risks of flaming. So don't take it personnaly, I thanx Maya for his work, but things always need to be a bit pushed up if one wants to improve... 1) Hands They were both better and worse than other character hands... The thumb is very good in theory but one part of it is difficult to pose and distorts very much. Fingers are a bit too long too maybe... It is sad to see that, while mayadoll's hand have a great potentiel regarding bones/bending, they are harder to pose than average designed hands... 2) Breasts Good basically, and the second material for nipple is a good idea, but we still need a few morphs to simulate gravity, pressure, and some other traditionnal "shapes" (though i admit i really prefere/like better the initial shape) 3) Butt/ Buttocks At rest it is somehow nice, but once you begin to bend it a bit, poor mayadoll's butt becomes really strange and odd looking. 4) Genital part/morph A very impressive piece of modelling if you ask me, compared to most genital morphs i already have seen for popular characters. One problem I humbly think (and my opinion is shared by many people I spoke with..) is that is seems a bit misplaced, too much backwards when you look her from front view. The basic texture paints pubic area and beginning of glute and top of genital, but the genital morph itself is located too far away from it, and it looks disturbing, and it is hard to pose correctly. Second thing is that the few polygons at the boundaries of the genital morph and hip part are too few and when you want for example someone to kneel down on one leg, or spread legs, it becomes obvious; plus if genital morph itself only included labias and all the genital part, without something aroung before gettign back to hip's mesh, it would be a bit easier to make appropriate matching textures for most mayadoll texture characters or vicky2 textures (becasue of bijouchat remapping that allow us to use v2 texts on mayadoll). I think that someone with good magnets knwoledge could adress both issues (replace it better, and strech outer genital polygones and enlarge a bit hips polygon at boundaries)... 5) Face morphs I know a bunch of MT was released, but Maya doll really needs a bit more to give her face some expressions, such as brows to express worry, sadness, anger, etc, snarl to the mough, and so on, and most of all, assymetric morphs, I mean that being able to control each brows, each mouth side (snarl for example) independantly. Mister Maya already made such difference when he designed eyes and eyes material mappings. Well these were just suggestions and observations, not angry criticism or flaming or something. I do not see any more flaws in mayadoll so far, but maybe you have other problems with her too. Thanx again to mister Maya for such a wonderful (and refreshing) free new character. Aside from Yamato's works with previous characters (v2, posette), I only use mayadoll now (and animedoll), despite the smaller wardrobe and the difficulties. I saw some people making hybrids of mayadoll bodies with v2 heads.. why not ? But I like Mayadoll's cute face better, even if she lacks v2 morphs for expression. Some made the opposite way, means a Mayadol had on a v2 body; easy to understand so she can benefit from v2 wardrobe easily, but in fact, i find the basic shape of mayadoll body far more interesting, even with her flaws so far... I think Mayadoll only needs herself to be good, but she needs help. (Anyway a friend of mine made a mayadoll body and a tenten head.. now THIS is breathtaking !)
