I've just taken on a family photo project. I'm to assemble photos of the family tree for a couple of generations and then make a product cd from which they can be viewed. There could easily be 1000 - 2000 images by the time it finishes up. I will certainly need database functionality. I preceive I may need multiple programs for the indexing and cd application creation. Any recomendations? I've looked at ACDSEE but would like some others to compare to. What all are you using? Pros/cons?

Jasc's Paint Shop Pro Photo Album. Relatively inexpensive, it's a database, allowing you to catagorize images by keyword, a browser, you can even do some minimal manipulations with it. It has image stiching functionality and you can use it make slideshows and then burn them to cd. I tried the demo on my computer when I upgraded my PSP, and have played around with it a bit, can say it seems like a neat little all around consumer program, and looks like what you may be looking for. www.jasc.com

Cumulus looks promising as well but not sure if I like the look of it as well. But downloaded the demo for it as well to see which I like better. It runs at 69 I believe. Cumulus

Presently I use ACdsee and I knew it would leave me wanting for more.
