First of all, can you make snow in Vue??? And second can you make an animation were the snow falls from the sky???

Yes, you can make snow in Vue. And you also can make falling (moving) snow. And rain:-) Guitta

To elaborate on the rather short answer above: Firstly, create your scene, remember to add a nice atmosphere in keeping with a snowing theme (thick cloud, haze/fog etc). Then, in front of the camera place a 3d plane, much larger than the cameras field of view (oriented to face camera) and use thesnowflakematerial on it (in special effects). Repeat several times (or lots depending on the snow density you want). Each time, slightly alter the texture size and orientation so each plane isnt identical. You should now have a nice snow falling scene. To animate it, add a keyframe at the end of the animation timeline and simply move the 3d planes down. Each plane can move at a slightly different rate. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks for making that more clear. You mentioned "in front of the camera place A 3d plane". Now when you say "Repeat several times", do you mean create more planes with SF material since you mention later "so each plane isn`t identical.". Are these plane one above the other one( in one line/plane) or do they happen at different distance from the camera? Thanks, -Nick

Have a look at this thread by Caroluk. The use of cylinders is a much better way to create animated snow, because cylinders are 3 dimensional, planes are not. In moving the cylinders up and down, right and left, in rotating them (make sure you have checked OBJECT STANDARD in the material editor) and also in resizing the snow between the Keyframes you will get great falling snow effects. :-)Guitta
