Eek! You're not supposed to post that link here. Now this thread's going to be deleted. Or would be, if we had a moderator in the Poser forum...

elizabyte ( ) posted Wed, 14 January 2004 at 8:58 AM

Uh-oh, you've done it now... You've given the URL of an "age restricted" site (unlike Renderosity, which is also age restricted, but the bondage gear, fetish wear, and posable genitals in the store are family friendly). bonni

actually i disagree. i did NOT post a link, just an URL. that means, only clicking on that does not suffice, you need to get ACTIVE yourself by copy-and-pasting... (although "clicking" a link is also "activity" - just much less) anyway, we'll see what happens. (confidently waiting for reactions)

Doesn't really matter, they've split the site. The only things you get without paying some bucks is the G rated. Didn't try the free stuff, think that's probably in the "Premium" end of it too. Just my guess.

saxon ( ) posted Wed, 14 January 2004 at 11:30 AM

I got a really stroppy email from them about some freebies I put up there years ago, I'd forgotten all about them but I was informed that they were unofficial adverts and that they'd been removed but would I like to advertise with them. Weird people! I've left the site completely and wouldn't touch them with a ten foot barge pole....

No... I just clicked My Rotica bookmark... & it popped right up. Nah... this thread is safe, as far as I'm concerned :o) Thomas Poser Coordinator

How about, "rendneurotic.com"? :) SMT

I'd rather stay in my lane than lay in my stain!

mateo_sancarlos ( ) posted Wed, 14 January 2004 at 2:12 PM

Thanks, smith, for clarifying that. We sometimes have to tell people to take their renders to renderotica when they complain about the "prudes" here, so it's good to know we can still do that.

1. The name in the title of this thread is not a valid link to any site - so it is not a violation of TOS! 2. **sebastel**'s, second posting to this thread DID have a direct link to an Adult Restricted Content site and contains - Yes Triple X rated material - And Yes the thread was deleted that contained the adult link! 3. This is a direct quote from Rosity's TOS: Members/Users will not use this community for; Advertising or linking to any publications and/or web sites that are age restricted due to content, and/or pornographic in nature. 4. This is NOT a New Addition to the TOS - it is one of the older TOS. 5.A direct Link to the TOS can be found above. 6. Another TOS that has seemed to have been not read of late: **Member/User Conduct: Members and users are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is constructive and respectful of others at all times. Additionally, we would hope that each member/user would do their best to facilitate a culture of collaboration and positive reinforcement, so that we can all share our passion for art while realizing our personal ambitions, and developing friendships.** 7. None of the mods or coords, or admin want to spend their time pouring over the threads for TOS, that are obivious - we would rather be spending our time helping you with Poser questions, not copy and pasting the TOS. 8. Everyone agreed to the TOS when they signed up to be a member of the Renderosity Community! 9. No one said you could not mention the name an adult site - what you cannot do is post a link [even a shortened version of the Link - Nor can you direct members to the site, which would fall under advertising]. Thanks to those members who posted to this thread who honestly wanted an answer to a question. That is what the Poser Forum is for - to help Poser users learn about Poser :) Dee-Marie

Smitthms ( ) posted Wed, 14 January 2004 at 3:52 PM

Mateo.... understand tho, thats Me.... other Mods, Admin, or Coords might say otherwise.... but Me, I'll never lock or delete a thread because Renderotica was listed. All I ask, is please don't post the link. I ask that you send them the addy via IM. The reason for this... posting a link to an age restricted site is a TOS violation. Thanks, Thomas Poser Coordinator

deemarie ( ) posted Wed, 14 January 2004 at 3:55 PM

A link does NOT have to be an active Link! If it has the www and/or a .com - it is considered a link! And is against TOS! Dee-Marie

daverj ( ) posted Wed, 14 January 2004 at 4:49 PM

To answer Ethan's original question. The site is still there. You just spelled it wrong. It is renderotica not renderotic. And you do have to register, which is free, to get to a lot of the adult content in the gallery.

deemarie ( ) posted Wed, 14 January 2004 at 4:52 PM

Thank you for your helpful answer daverj :) Dee-Marie

_Audrey ( ) posted Wed, 14 January 2004 at 7:58 PM

[Advertising or linking to any publications and/or web sites that are age restricted due to content, and/or pornographic in nature.] Okay, kill the thread then: www.renderosity.com By the way, art is not about "positive reinforcement". That's not art. That's called schmaltz.

millman ( ) posted Wed, 14 January 2004 at 8:59 PM

Rubbermatt, obviously I didn't spend much effort trying to navigate the site, took a quick look at the gallery and didn't care enough to go deeper. One visit every couple of months doesn't really make me an active member. I'm also very impatient, if I can't find something quickly, I don't waste any time digging very much.

Caly ( ) posted Wed, 14 January 2004 at 10:00 PM

Oh for the love of pete, give it up will you?! Yes renderosity is age restricted, yes it sells .obj'ed fetish gear and shows images of naked characters with genitals. Yes the mods and admins have the right to enforce something we all agreed on to access the site I think the point is made so often its stopped being ironic. [ ... must ... end ... post before head ... explodes ] aargggggggggggh!!!!!!! - :-) -

sebastel ( ) posted Thu, 15 January 2004 at 3:06 AM

well, that's it. thanks for the kind clarification. sebastel

elizabyte ( ) posted Thu, 15 January 2004 at 3:49 AM

"I think the point is made so often its stopped being ironic." Probably. But the double standard doesn't seem to have been noticed by the admins, or, at least, they don't give a damn. bonni
