lindans ( ) posted Fri, 16 January 2004 at 4:50 AM ยท edited Sat, 30 November 2024 at 9:40 AM

I have just downloaded and installed 4 or 5 items from Daz, morphing mask, morphing collar, a set of textures for both, masquerade,I think. Also the new windswept hair from Pclub. All for V3. Loaded fine but next time I tried to access p5 got a parse error message and had to close down, How do I get P5 running again????

Have a look at the FAQ at CouriosLabs, it is a error fixed in the service releases of P5. I think they discribe how to make your P5 run again. Stefan

Try deleting the .rsr files in the geometries folder for these items and see if it helps, sometimes these files in the geometries folders are corrupt and can shut the program down. Sharen

I have had this one myself in the past. It is a known problem and service pack 3 cures it. Download it free from the Curious Labs website.

Well...I had a similar issue just last week. And there was reply that worked. I am using P5 and got a parse error. The solution that worked was to goto the preference folder: Curious Labs Poser 5 Runtime Pref and find the LibraryPrefs.xml file and rename it (I named it LibraryPrefs_0.xml) and restart P5. It will rebuild the Preferences. Unfortuantely you will have to re-establish any other Runtime folders you may have been using. Hope this works for you. If not...good luck. By renaming the LibraryPrefs and not deleting it you can go back to the old name if that was not it Dagar (ps dont thank me but thank the persons (I forget who) who actually gave me the solution) :)

You could download sr3 during the night, it might download slightly faster too. Remember you have to download the figures for sr3 too, unfortunately that file is as big as the sr3 its self...

way back there this was caused by an "&" in a directory/folder name. Rename that and fix the reference to it in the LibraryPrefs.xml file.

Thanks for all the tips , so If I download the SR3 patch I have to download the figure update as well ???

Yes. You should really download them both, poser 5 works much better with the sr3 than without it.
