P5 refuses to boot up . It gets about halfway loaded & freezes. If I uninstall, & reinstall it works. If I update to SR3, then same problem- freezing up again. Any advise? Pack

Please note the following is from an early thread when I went under my former aka Stillgar. http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=1249917&Form.sess_id=3556216&Form.sess_key=1074313277 I used to work for CL last year and remember having a similair problem that you are mentioning during SR2 beta. The problem was caused early on during SR2 beta where empty temp files where being generated. It caused Poser 5 to launch extremely slow and brought Poser to a crawl. The bug got fixed then but you'd have to delete any PB or Shadowmap tmp files that were created. Although this may not your resolve your problem, you may want to look into this. I've included a thread you can reference to see if this is what you are experiencing. http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=985672 "Delete temporary files. An issue in a previous beta Service Release caused Poser to not delete certain temporary files. The issue has been resolved in Service Release 2.1 for Poser 5 (SR-2.1), but you may be experience the problem. There were two separate issues: - In SR2.1 engineering fixed a PBxxx.tmp file problem. It was a simple missing call to delete the PBxxx temp files. If you have residual PBxxx.tmp files, please go to the Windows/TEMP folder or Documents or SettingsUsernameLocal SettingsTemp folder and delete all of the PBxxx.tmp files. - Shadow map .tmp files. What will happen now is Shadow map .tmp files will be temporarily stored in the root of the Poser 5 folder during a FireFly render. Once a single scene or movie render is completed, they will be removed. The files will also be removed if the render is canceled by the user or if the render fails. Please reference the SR2.1 read me on this issue." Hopes this helps, Brian
