Subject: Please help: Loading New Characters (error message)

I'm obviously not understanding how addon characters work and I am confused about CR2 and Object files. Example: I have Vicky 3 for Poser 4 and that works fine. I notice that MOST addon characters designed for Vicky (Eg: Savana) load not from the FIGURE menu but from the POSE Menu. However I downloaded the excellent Angelyna from Blackhearted and that (according to the readme installs to the CHARACTER folder)appears not in the pose menu but the figure menu. Now I assume that to load Angelyna I FIRST load DAZ Vicky 3, but Angelyna seems to only be loaded from the FIGURES menu as well. Is this why I get an error message "Cannot load Runtimeetc etc MlWom.Obj"). Surely you can't load two FIGURES at once, one on top of the other, whether with one or two ticks???? As far as I can see the CR2 and other files are all in the right place. I tried two ticks and then one, then tried loading Angleyna first (doesn't work). I noticed this error message occasionally while loading other stuff. Yet all the OBJ files appear to be in the right place. Clear and detailed advise would be most welcome and thanks in advance to anyone who can explain what's going on. Obviously I have missed something obvious or the readme advises the wrong place to put the files. KInd Regards, Leonardis I

Angelyna is a character based on Vickie 1. You must have that base character for the cr2 to work. Vickie 1 is the original millenium woman from DAZ. They are different objects. You will get that error because you do not have the required object file. Also, that error appears in Poser 4 and you do have the object then the object rsr file is corrupted somehow. You will need to close Poser then browse to the Runtime Geometries folder and find the object, then delete the accompaning rsr file, not the rsr file in the Character/Poser, etc, folders. Hope this helps.

Thanks for that. Looks like I have the wrong version of Vicky. Kind Regards, Leonardis

The low-res versions of Mike1 and Vicki1 one are now free on the CDs of some graphic magazines. You might want to see if this character will work with the low-res version.

It won't. The lo-res versions have their own obj file also.
