Hmmm.... the color does seem a bit dull in the BW version, and more of a magenta than red, I would tend to agree with your own observation that the red needs to be a bit brighter. I really do love that color version :~).... the BW version just doesn't seem to be quite as effective IMHO. Maybe if the lighthouse wasn't colored I wouldn't feel that way? I don't know... all just my own personal taste I suppose.

Personaly, i prefer the black and white version. Yeah im a b/w lover. That give a kind of nice mood. The colour tones are perfect. :P I hope that will help you. !!!!!!:O)!!!!!!

How do you make this? I'd add the b/w-version in a second layer above the coloured one and would than remove the b/w-zoom-tower with the digital rubber. Won't lose you the colour and (maybe) is easier than the way i fear you're using?

Oh no Dear Tom those are two different pics taken not using a tripod either. so I dont think I could layer them very successfully. I used the lhaso tool in PSP and just lhaso sections of the pic and add color and Voila! Takes about ten minutes (if I have problems with it). And five if I don't. Soooooo which one, the first or the second "colored" image? Brenda :)

I still don't understand, why u are using two different pics? Use one, duplicate it, convert the second one to b/w .. Or is it, your trying to work on a pic, that came b/w out of the cam? hmmm scratcheshishead :-) If i have to choose, the second one. In your first attempt, the red is to week to me. hugz Tom

hmmmm, the edges cames out too soft, would have to work with the larger original but you get my ideal :]

More feedback.... yeah.... I like what you did Nilla.... I would have used the same technique as Raven by layering the color on top and then erasing the unneeded areas. Didn't you take the original BW in color? I'm a bit confused too... scratches head, feeling a bit stupid

I colorized the original B&W photo trying to keep the feel of the B&W photograph that she liked so well. (she saw about five different shots of this lighthouse, color and b&W). I then posted a second picture, "similar" to the first one, in color so you all would have something to compare the color I had added (second post). I then went back to the black and white original photo and added more color (via lhaso), thinking that maybe in the first one I had not added enough color (third post). I like the third post, though I am thinking that it has lost some black and white feel. So in all actuality there were two separate photos, one taken in black and white and one taken in color,(no tripod used) that you have seen. They are not one in the same photo. Using the Lhaso tool, I added a tint of color to the original black and white that she picked out. A very simple process actually using the Lhaso tool. In animation, I use the lhaso in a very similar way (making a picture glitter), so I automatically did the colorizing/tinting the same way. I am sorry if somehow I confused you all, like some of the others in here, at times I have trouble expressing myself in any language! LOL! I just automatically assumed that you all knew that they were two separate photos. Brenda :)

the one in post14 looks good to me but the lighthouse looks asif it's leaning to the right.

In the post 14...what i do is ... i put the colour layer on the top ... and the b/w layer at the botton. I simply painted the lighthouse with the quick mask mode and the went back in normal and delete the selection. I do this realy quick ... on my break at school this morning :P. Quick mask mode is a very powerful tool. Very helpful. It's more quick that the lasso tool, the pen .. etc... MAybe firestorm is right ... the lighhouse seem to be leaning a litte to the right. But i took drea original picture. I dont know why. !!!!!!:O)!!!!!!
