Pay attention on the template to the shape of the polygons at the seams, which will be at the outer edge somewhere. There will be another edge that is supposed to fit. Note that the polys on both edges may or may not be at the same scale/orientation, but for every single point on one edge there will be a corresponding point on the opposite edge. Use the polygons on the template edges to line up your design- it may be smaller or at a different angle or even a different shape from side to other side, but those edge points represent the same point! Also, if you overlay the transparency map on the template, notice where the seam is on the template. Then simply run your design on out along the string past the edge of the template a small ways, 30 pixels or so. If you overlap the seams in this way, you will avoid gaps in the map at the seams.
